Chapter Six... The Road Home

1047 Words
I still couldn't believe I was on Derrick's private jet heading to my homelands. I sat back and just sighed contentedly. It was refreshing to have some freedom. I knew that it wasn't enough but it was something. I mean I was leaving the fûcking country and Derrick was actually letting me. You know now that I think about it... why did he let me go? This is not something Derrick would ever let me do. I mean seriously he didn't even let me help his own dâmned mother with dinner, so what the hêll? An unexpected feeling forms in the pit of my stomach. Did Derrick have bad intentions for me? My family? I would never be able to forgive him if anything happened to my parents. They were the only things I had in my life that were the most important. Even though I feel as if there was someone else I was forgetting about. Which was strange because I never had anyone else but my parents. I wonder if I will ever find out who that yellow-eyed person is. I will have to ask my parents about that. I was sitting down calmly looking out the window when I felt a sudden exhaustion consume me and decided it was best to take a nap. I yawned and then closed my eyes. * * * * * * * * * * * "Addison? Can you hear me?" said that familiar voice that I had been dreaming about lately. "Yes, I can hear you. Who are you?" I say hesitantly. "Asmodeus, that is one of my names, although you may remember me as Garrett." the voice said with concern, "You don't remember me at all, do you? I could hear the hurt in his voice and for some reason it made my heart hurt badly. "No, I'm sorry, I don't know who you are," I whispered softly. "How old are you now?" he asks cautiously, "The last time I saw you, you were fourteen." I gasped sharply and looked into his yellow eyes. "T-that was over ten years ago. I am twenty-four years old now." His eyes widened with shock and then fire blazed in his eyes. "They took you away from me for ten years! I am going to fûcking destroy every single one of those dâmned witches. They will not get away with this. You're mine Addison. I don't know how, but it's the truth. You are mine. Prepare yourself for me, my love, I'm coming for you." * * * * * * * * * * * My eyes snapped open and I looked around fearfully. My heart was beating erratically and I couldn't seem to catch my breath. I was still in Derrick's private jet heading to Scotland. So why did I feel a sudden longing and familiarity with this man in my dreams? Garrett? That name seems familiar but yet it doesn't. I feel as if I am reaching for something in my mind, but it is suddenly ripped away from me over and over again. It was very frustrating, to say the least. What was the other name he used? Asmodeus? That seems like an ancient name of some kind. I didn't dare try to search for anything on my phone, because I was more than certain Derrick had it being watched for every single little thing I did. I sat back on my chair and looked out the window and felt a peacefulness engulf me as the sunlight showed through the window onto my face. "Mrs. Stone?" said a voice. I snapped my head in alarm to find the source of the voice. It was the guard from the house. I don't remember him getting on the plane. Why was he here? "Yes, what is it?" I say with confusion. "Mr. Stone wants you to pick up your phone. He said he has been trying to call you for the past twenty minutes." My eyes widened with horror. I grabbed for my phone in my clutch and noticed the missed calls and texts. I gulped loudly and answered the phone just as it began ringing again. With shaky hands, I answered the phone. "H-hello." "Addison, why in the fûck haven't you answered my calls?" I flinched from the anger in his voice. "I-I f-fell a-asleep, I-I'm s-sorry," I mumbled out. "Is that going to be your fûcking excuse every time? You are not here to be punished for this insolence but mark my words, Addison. You will be punished accordingly once you return to me. It is my job to make sure you are obedient. I was calling to tell you that I sent one of my guards with you. I decided that you need that extra firm discipline to make sure you follow my rules. So you will do what my guard says without hesitation. He is there to make sure you listen. If you do not listen, he will call me and tell me. One time Addison, that's all you have. One time you don't listen and he is dragging you back home to me. Do you understand me?" Derrick says sternly but his voice is hard. "Y-yes, husband. I understand." I whispered roughly. "Good. Now that I have that taken care of, I will let you go. What do you need to say to me?" he says with smugness. "I love you husband and I will be a good girl," I said as the bile in my stomach rose to my throat. "I love you more than anyone ever will Addison. Only I can put up with your constant disappointment and disobedience. Do you really think anyone could love you as I do? I am as good as it gets darling. Don't you ever forget that?" Derrick says in a condescending tone. The fear of his words being true cut me straight to my bones. Was he right? Could anyone ever love a girl like me? Was it a moot point to even try to expect love? Happiness? Freedom? I turned my phone off and placed it back in my clutch. The guard just smiled cruelly and then turned away and left back to where he was before. Scotland couldn't get here fast enough.
