Chapter Ten Paisley I could hear the rushing whoosh of my pulse racing through my body. My breath was short, and my lungs felt tight. Meanwhile, my entire body was tingling with awareness. I could feel Russell's retreating form as he moved farther away. It felt like we were two magnetized forms in space. Everything in me wanted to turn back, to follow him and demand an explanation for why he’d kissed me the other night. I wasn't blaming him entirely for that kiss. It was a two-way street.
