Chapter 13
John
None of us was happy with what Sophia did. With school, my career and now this, I will have so much to do. I won't have any free time at all. But Sophia is my friend and she want the whole group to do this together. How can I say no?
When I first came here, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get any real friends, because I'm famous. But the group sees me as me and not as a celebrity. That's really hard to find as a celebrity, real friends.
And when they asked me to move in with them, I knew, I knew they didn't care. I also kind of knew that they didn't care if I was famous when I realized that Emma hates me. I admit that she's done things to me, but I'm not angry. I actually got kind of angry at Lucas when he read Emma’s diary. That was wrong.
There's something with Emma that interests me. As soon as I laid my eyes on her I knew she was something extra special. She's so beautiful. So damn beautiful. Her eyes are so big and so beautiful. Her nose is so cute and her smile... I can't find words.
Whenever I see her, I get all warm and butterflies starts flying around in my belly. She makes me feel like I walk on clouds, which is pretty weird considering that she's been pretty mean to me. But she's not mean to me anymore, although she's not kind either. She's nothing towards me really.
I think I got on her good side when I helped her and the girls’ revenge on the guys though. Because since, she's showed me some of her rare smiles every now and then.
"We get to know which roles we are assigned today!" Sophia says excited as we make our way to the auditorium.
"We know, you've been saying that ... All freaking day!" Mia says tensely.
And she really has. It really has started to get on everyone's nerves. Even Chris nerves, and he loves her very much.
Sophia's face becomes red and she buries her face into Chris arm.
Sophia is cute. She's small and cute. She's almost like a child. But Chris love her and they're great together.
Our schedules have changed a bit now and we're going to have drama like three times a week. I'm going to have to try to fit that into my schedule. One of those rehearsals is on the same time as my singing rehearsals. Humphrey is going to flip out when I tell him. But what can I do? I want to put my friendships first right now actually, because it's the first time I've had real friends.
"And it is starting to get really annoying", Emma whines.
Belle opens the door to the auditorium. Emma passes and leave the door to close and closes right on my nose.
"Owww", I whine and put my hand to my nose.
"Oh god, are you okay?" Lucas asks.
"Mmhm", I mumble.
Emma opens the door and peeks out with her head. "Oh my, I'm sorry", she laughs. "But this time it wasn't on purpose".
Her laugh is so adorable. The rest of the group starts laughing along with Emma.
"Is my nose red?" I ask as we walk into the auditorium.
"Actually yes", Chris says. "I'm going start calling you Rudolph!"
I sigh. "It's not that red is it?" I ask desperately looking at Lucas.
He gives me a pity full look and pats my shoulder. I sigh as I sit down. Great... Juuuust great!
They all start laughing at my misery, and then, finally so do I. I mean how can I not laugh.
The others sit down and after a few minutes Savannah Plank walks up into the stage.
"I've now given you all the roles in the play, I'm going to read them for you now", she says and hold up a list, which she starts reading from. "As the lead roles we have Emma Adams as Jennifer and John Carter as Ryan".
I raise my eyebrow. Oh no. I glance over at Emma who looks like someone hit her with a stone. I hear her groan.
"Julia as Steffi, Sophia as Lily, Mia as Dina and Belle as Livia", she reads out.
The character Steffi is sister with the character Jennifer, and Livia and Dina are Ryan's sisters, but Lily is another character’s sister.
"Jack will be played by Isaac”. Oh god, I didn’t realize that there are like three sibling couples in this play. “Alex will be played by Chris, Tim by Lucas and Levi by Gavin", she reads out.
She goes on and on until everyone has gotten their parts. "Next drama class I'll be handing out the manuscripts, today we will just do some exercises", Ms. Plank says. "And we'll start with the trust exercise, the one where you fall into each other's arms, Emma and John come here". We walk up to her. We don’t actually have any other choice so. "Emma fall backwards into John's arms, and trust him to catch you", Ms. Plank says.
"Umm, I don't though, I’m guessing he's waiting for an opportunity for revenge", she says, smiling shyly.
"Never know", I say devilish.
Of course, I won't let her fall, but I don't have to tell her that. She has to do this exercise either way.
"Hush you two, just do it okay?" Ms. Plank says.
Emma sighs and stand with her back towards me. She takes a deep breath and starts falling backwards. I catch her light body in my arms and the butterflies starts going crazy inside of me. I get this feeling of not wanting to let her go. But of course, I do let her go.
"Now class! You saw what they did, now you all start doing it", Ms. Plank calls out.
And so, everyone starts doing the exercise. Ms. Plank called it the trust exercise. I can't stop thinking of when I had Katniss body in my arms. My arms won't stop tingling.
I'll never forgot that. Never. Emma Adams has an effect on me that no one else does. I don’t know why but she does. I almost wish she didn’t because I know that Emma does not feel the same way towards me. That’s a little difficult to think about.
