Celeste was outraged and betrayed by us, and I couldn’t deny her reasoning for her feelings. We have all lived as though our personal life matters more than our entire family. It is true our prominent family is essential and our own, but we couldn’t do them both; it was either one or another, and doing so many was just the worst work.
I wanted to say this out loud, but I’m entirely scared of her anger; my fighting days were behind me after all the unjustified actions we needed to obtain, outgrow and submit to it just took more of our strengths even though I became a shadow of who I used to be.
