Chapter 7
The media’s headlines were filled with the CEO and his mistress.
When Lacy found out about the pictures, she immediately called Tate. Tate was putting out flames the company and could only ignore her phone calls.
He’d tried phoning Andrea, but she wasn’t answering his calls. He prayed she didn’t believe the pictures.
While he was busy calling Andrea, she was sitting in the restaurant next door waiting for her supper. She completely ignored the news and scrolled through her t****k.
She knew exactly how the public would react. They’ll question if the pictures are real, then they’ll wait for her to react.
Her eyes turned cold when she saw Lacy had gone live.
She took out her tablet and logged into her private t****k. She entered Lacy’s live.
Lacy acted innocent, the tears in her eyes looked real. Her shoulders trembled.
“I don’t understand what’s going on, I don’t know who realized those pictures but it’s not real. I would never do that to my best friend, and I would never sleep with my boss.” Lacy paused and wiped her tears.
Andrea was impressed by her acting. She almost believed her tears. She hated women like Lacy the most. She hated Lacy with everything in her.
She picked up her phone and was about to call Karen when Tate called her again.
She ignored it and continued watching Lacy acting all innocent. She had to give it to her; she was getting sympathy from the people in the comments.
Andrea smiled and typed out a comment.
{How do we know if the pictures are fake? I had a friend look into the pictures, there’s been no editing done and also the eye drops are on the table behind you… You’d make a great actress…}
Lacy read the comment. She looked behind her and the eye drops were indeed behind her. She stuttered for a second before she composed herself.
“I had to use the eye drops last night because of my sinuses. I can assure you commenter I am not lying. Andrea is my best friend, she’s getting married to Mr. Andrews, I would never betray her trust like that…”
Andrea’s food came and she got up, chucking her tablet in her bag and her phone she carried in her hand sending her husband a message.
She walked to her car and her driver opened the door for her.
“Where to Miss Beckett?” he asks.
She looks up from her phone. “Send me to my apartment.” she says.
She needed to pack up their apartment. She couldn’t stay there while she was married to Archer, she’d promised him she’d move into his place, but she only planned to pack up the apartment before returning to her parents’ home.
{Andrea_Beckett – Archie the media will be going crazy for the next for days, try not to read any of the negative comments about me. Don’t forget to eat lunch. I’m packing up my things today and will stay at my parents until I’ve packed everything up.
Archer was in the meeting when his personal phone went off. Archer picked his phone up and glanced at the text from his wife. A warm sensation filled his heart. She’d even informed him about her plans for the week, she knew he wasn’t comfortable with her staying with Tate.
A few of the directors flew in for this meeting looked at Archer in surprise. He’d never looked at his phone during a meeting before. He’d fired people for doing the very thing he was doing.
Archer sent her a text telling her to rest and to behave.
The meeting went on without further interruption.
Back to Andrea, when she arrived back at the apartment, she told her driver to wait while she packed up her things.
She sent Karen a message to release the video. The couple claimed the pictures were fake, let’s see how they’ll react when the whole world sees the video…
A cold smile appeared on Andrea’s face.
She got out of the car and walked toward the apartment she once shared with Tate. She’d actually gotten this apartment for herself. When Tate and she got serious he moved in with her. This place held memories she wanted to forget. She felt like this apartment held more lies than sweet memories.
Andrea stared at the living room; her lips pursed. She didn’t want anything here. She thought she’d pick out everything she bought but once she actually walked in. She didn’t want any of the things she and Tate got for the apartment.
It felt like she was holding onto the relationship if she did.
So, she moved to the bedroom and picked out a few clothing items, her designer bags, and shoes she wanted and a few sentimental gifts she’d gotten from her family.
Finding she only had few boxes worth of things. She chucked them into boxes and went down to ask Denver to help her carry the boxes to the car.
It took them four trips to get all the boxes.
Denver drove Andrea back to her parents’ home, when she got home, she received a call from her father.
She smiled and answered. “Good evening old man…” she teased.
“You have time to laugh when your fiancé is cheating on you with a model?” her father sneers. She could hear he was upset.
“Oh, daddy’o don’t worry about me. I released those pictures…” she explains.
Her father was quiet for a beat. “Why?” he asks.
“When a dog bites his owner of course you teach it not to bite the hand that feeds it. However, in this case I don’t want to teach this dog to be obedient. I want to completely destroy him…” Andrea says, her voice cold and distant.
“Andrea…” Andre sighed. He’d known his daughter was known for holding grudges. But he was happy she’d finally opened her eyes to the man who has been holding her back. “I heard you were visiting Archer?” he changes her subject.
Andrea cleared her throat. “You’ve spoken to Arch?” she asks her tone light fishing for whether Archer told her father about their marriage or not.
“No, I spoke to Renolds. He saw you and Archer together…” there was a hint of hope in her father’s voice.
Andrea smiled. “So, you haven’t spoken to your son-in-law…”
Andre was quiet for a beat. “What?”
