Once your front matter and back matter are in place, you can focus on formatting your story or the content of your e-book (be it a novel, poetry, short stories, recipes, whatever).
At the beginning of the content, I put the title and the author’s name, centered in the middle of the page and double spaced.
Do not double-space the actual content. Many e-book formats override line spacing, so it won’t really show up except in PDF formats. Since e-readers usually have fairly small screens on which to read, double spacing your story will just end up creating more pages for readers to scroll through, and if they’re having to change the page every few seconds, they aren’t really getting as lost in your writing as you’d like them to.
