Ellie stared at her reflection, wearing a bright blue wig. She hummed in distaste, then ripped it off her head and threw it away. She scoffed and turned on her heels. "Don't they make different shades of blue?" She asked.
"What kind of blue do you want?" Olivia asked, glancing over at her friend's Halloween costume. "It isn't like you have a lot of money to buy those shades."
Ellie frowned as she thought to herself. "Maybe I should have dyed my hair. I have seen that blue I wanted for my punk goth electric zombie look." She said.
Olivia's eyes widened, and she gaped in shock. "You're not going to dye your hair for this one night! What will your parents say?" She asked, walked to Ellie's thrown wig, and picked it up, dusting it slightly. "And you need a better name for your character..."
"It would be worth it, and besides, my parents know I love to look my best." She winked over at her friend and shrugged. She turned back to the mirror and pouted, "yeah... I need a better name than a punk goth electric zombie."
Olivia chuckled under her breath, "it's not like anyone would ask."
Olivia has always been interested in Halloween, but she never took part in it because of her parents. They believe it was a sinful day. But Olivia saw it as a day for one to be whatever persona one felt like being. And she wishes to be part of it.
As Olivia thought to herself, Ellie saw her friend's sad face. She smiled softly, then cleared her throat, gaining Olivia's attention. "You know what! Without the hair, I cannot go, besides..." She stood up and walked toward her friend. "Horror movies are good for tonight's occasion," she pulled her into a hug.
Olivia chuckled, "what about your punk goth electric zombie look?"
Ellie shrugged, "there are more Halloween parties. I am just going to wait for my friend." Olivia hugged her friend back, "I should get you a stuffed dragon because you're a trapped princess in this tall tower."
They both laughed...
Recalling last year's Halloween, Olivia lay in bed. Tears rolled from the corners of her eyes. She missed her friend. Also, Ellie still owed her that stuffed dragon.
Ring...
A click sound was followed by the door appearing and sliding open. Olivia sat up, whipping her tears away as Ase walked in. He smiled and greeted, "good earthly afternoon."
"What!? Did I sleep that long?" She asked in shock, trying to fix her strawberry blonde hair.
He lightly shrugged his shoulders. "I thought you would like to know the hours in Earth terms. And the Prince's world time, it is daybreak. Also, the His majesty would appreciate you joining him for breakfast." He said, smirking, "he is taking a liking to you..."
Olivia frowns her eyebrows as a hesitating groaning softly rumbled in her throat. "I never thought the first guy who would have a crush on me would be a six-year-old kid." She said under her breath, feeling embarrassed and uncomfortable.
Ase chuckled under his palm, then walked to the other end. He lightly pushed his hand on the wall, and a clothing rack suddenly rolled out. "What would you like to wear for this special occasion?" He asked.
Olivia was amazed at the appearance of the clothing rack. She thought that this guest room just had a bed and nothing else.
She jumped out of bed and approached the clothing rack, and grabbed what looked to be a dress from the stand. "Should I seriously go? I just would like to be alone."
"You are mourning?"
Her startling gaze snapped over to Ase, who tilted his head and stared at her. "Forgive me for reading your aura, but I just need to understand your hesitation."
Olivia stayed silent, afraid to say something that may get her in trouble with Ase. Suddenly, Ase frowned, "did I offend you? I didn't intend on making you upset."
She shook her head and lowered her head, staring down at the dress in her hands. Olivia does not know what she is feeling at the moment as a lot has happened to her. Her friend passed away, then she's captured in an Alien ship, and the child responsible for her friend's death wants her to stay.
It's too sudden.
Ase placed his warm palm on Olivia's shoulder. She lifts her gaze to meet his. "You don't have to be afraid of us. We will never hurt you," he said.
They became silent, taking in the atmosphere. However, not knowing that an eager prince was heading their way. "Young Prince, you need to give the Miss time to shower and then dress," Emma said as they walked down the hallway to Olivia's.
"I... I just want to tell her something," he said with his head held high.
"But you sent Ase."
"I'm just making sure Ase gave her the message."
Emma tried to stop herself from smirking. She cleared her throat and gave him a blank face. "Of course, sir, you make sure Ase passed her the message."
He glared up at Emma then continued to Olivia's room. Her door was open, and without saying anything, he walked in. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks, which caused Emma to bump into him. Lucky for her, he did not fall or care because he was frozen in shock and anger.
Ase was too close to Olivia with his hand on her shoulder. Draco did not like it. "Good morning, Miss Olivia!" Draco said as he stormed towards them, pushing himself in between them.
Olivia noticed Draco was pushing Ase back, but she chose to ignore it and looked down at Draco. She realized that he had grown a bit taller. He now looked like an eight-year-old.
She shrugged away the confusion. "Morning Prince Draco."
He took her hand, which stunned her, "please call me Draco." He said, grinning.
She smiled awkwardly at him and leaned back, glancing at him then down at the hand he held. "Then you should call me Olivia."
His eyes lit up in joy, and his grin widened. "May you have breakfast with me?" He asked.
She glanced over at Ase, who nodded his head slightly. She turned her gaze back at Draco, shaking her head 'yes' with a warm smile. "But first, I need to get ready."
"Of course!" He turned and looked up at Ase, "let's go. You heard her. She needs to get dressed!" He ordered, glaring daggers at Ase, then grabbed him by his jacket and pulled him out.
Emma nods at Olivia before following behind Draco and Ase. Once the door closed, she chuckled at Draco's childish behavior, then realized...
"Where's the bathroom?" She asked loudly and glanced around the room.
Shortly a click was heard, snapping her gaze over to see a door appeared and opened.
She hesitated as she went towards it. She peeked in and saw it was a bathroom. She glanced over her shoulders before entering. After spending an hour figuring out the shower, Olivia had showered and dressed in an all-white baggie jumpsuit and comfortable slippers.
Luckily, she managed to get out of the room, but she did not know where to go because everything was the same. White hallways, it was just unbelievable how someone could make their way.
She stopped and groaned loudly, "where am I going?"
"This hallway would take you to the elevator," Emma's voice echoed in the hallway, causing Olivia to yelp and snap a slight glare at her. "I did not mean to scare you, Miss Olivia."
She took a deep breath and shook her head. "It's fine, and please call me Olivia." She said, walking to the other end of the hallway where Emma stood. "Draco sent you this time?"
"His being possessive, a good characteristic of an alpha." Olivia frowned her brows, and she shook it off as Emma led the way.
"How long have you been living on this ship?" Olivia asked.
"For a century now..."
A gasp escaped Olivia's lips. Emma did not seem to be that old. She looked like someone who should be in their early twenties. She does have a mature aura about her. But then Olivia wondered how old Ase was.
"Ase has reached his half-millennium. The Genesis spaceship has been around for fifteen hundred million years and has been studying and researching since then."
"Wow, don't you miss your planet?"
Emma glanced at her, "we no longer have a planet. Besides... I've been bred and raised here on the ship."
Bred?
Finally, they reached the dining room. Ase was standing beside Draco, who was grinning happily upon seeing Olivia.
"Olivia! You finally made it!" Draco called out, waving her over to the table. "I was starting to worry that you changed your mind and– never mind!" He began to blush, realizing he was oversharing.
"I just got lost," she muttered as she took a seat. "Sorry..."
"No, it's okay, let's eat!" He chirped.
Suddenly, plates of food appeared on the table. Olivia's food looked like a human breakfast; eggs, toast, and bacon. Then in Draco's dish, there was just roasted meat.
"It may look like human food, but computers have made an imaginary for you. Don't worry, it is safe for you to eat." Ase said, then followed her gaze to Draco's plate. "He has dragon blood, and meat is their main dish, but he needs to eat some green leafy plants once in a while."
Draco made a disgusted look, "I hate eating those." He whined as he stuffed his face with meat.
"You need it for fiber, little Prince."
He stuck his tongue at Ase, and a laugh left Olivia's lips which made Draco smile. He was happy to see her laughing. He wanted to see more of that.
"Sir, you are staring," Ase said, snapping Draco out of his train of thought. He snapped a glare, then lowered his gaze on his plate and continued to eat.
Olivia chuckled softly, finding his behavior adorable. But the thought of Draco's sudden growth spurt. Not so long ago, he was six-year-old. Now he looked like an eight-year-old.
"Olivia, would you like to watch my training?" Draco asked.
At first, she was confused and wanted to answer a question, but Emma stepped in. "May I advise that it is too early for Olivia to watch your training. Maybe when she is ready." She said, and he nodded.
Breakfast was quiet.
Draco went with Ase for training to leave Olivia and Emma alone when it was done. Olivia wondered why Emma did not know what to watch his training.
"I wish to apologize for my interruption, but I needed to talk to you," Emma said, sitting on Draco's chair. "I want to apologize for Prince Draco's mistake on your planet. Did you have any relations with the two humans who passed away?"
"How did –?
"I was the one who came to collect him, and I needed to make a report if there were other witnesses other than you..."
Olivia bit her lower lip. Feeling her throat tightening, she cleared her throat and nodded her head 'yes'. "My best friend and a fellow classmate were in that car." Tears threatened to build up in her eyes.
"Prince Draco is still young and is learning to his temper and power. I hope you may forgive him and try to build a friendship with him. He is trying to figure out both his demon and dragon side." She reached out for Olivia's hand, "please don't tell him about those deaths."
"I won't tell him about it. I am not that cruel. Yeah, I am mourning my friend's death and have been taken from my home planet. But I will never take it out on a child."
Anger began to boil in Olivia. She never thought she would be the bad guy. At the same time, she felt confused because she did not know how to feel.
Emma slightly nods, "... When Prince Draco is grown, are you willing to stay on the ship or continue your adventure with the Prince? He likes you, and I hope something good comes between you two."
