Alpha Adam settled into the seat next to Beta Kane, a scowl etched deeply on his face. We hadn’t spoken since I’d told him to leave me alone, and I wasn’t eager to break the silence.
His attempt to humiliate me had backfired, and the bitterness of it still lingered.
“Did you guys get married?” Alpha Lucas asked, his gaze shifting between Alpha Adam and me.
We both answered the question, but with completely different responses. I said no, and Alpha Adam said yes.
“We are married,” Alpha Adam declared firmly, and Alpha Lucas turned his attention to me, as if seeking confirmation.
“So she is your Luna?” Lucas asked. Both Alpha Adam and I shook our heads in unison. Finally, we agreed on something.
