Pastor Dave was in the midst of guiding the study. She could hear his booming yet friendly southern voice echoing down the halls of the church basement.
She heard Pastor Dave say: "You can be in the world but not of the world - that's the message of this very important passage."
He was new to Our Savior's. And new to Des Moines. One time she overheard him telling Father that he was from a town called Vestavia Hills.
"It's in Alabama, sir," said Pastor Dave, adding, "just outside of Birmingham."
"They have some good football down that way," Father replied.
"Roll tide!" Said Pastor Dave with a Colgate white smile.
Pastor Dave was handsome but Faith chose not to think about him in that way. He was engaged to a pretty brunette named Carly who was a cheerleader for the Tennessee Titans
