Victor overtakes Erin, leading him through the forest along the trail the Lovelace pack normally takes. The tell-tale signs of movement are visible by the trodden grass and broken tree branches.
Erin feels giddy every time he looks at Victor. His heart swelling to the point he believes it has swallowed up all his other organs.
