Matt’s already waiting for him by the time Don wakes up and gets ready for the day. He is drinking coffee and scrolling over something, there is a plastic parcel bag right next to him on the counter. “You’re looking better” he greets, but Don’s not sure whether he is being sarcastic or honest, on one hand the bruises on his face had bloomed into a darker shade that it’s even more obvious, but other than a few scarps here and there physically he is fine, especially since he had actually gone to bed last night rather than sit and drink some more. It’s still strange to wake up in the morning without a pounding hangover, and hence drink some more to get rid of it. “Where’s Casey?” he wonders as usually Matt would have already driven her to college by now. “Sleeping in, no classes today” h
