Book One: Chapter 1
Her ears perked up as she entered a new territory listening for any silent alarms or people nearby. Once she was sure the coast was clear she hid behind a tree quickly to shift and change into some clothes in the bag she had been carrying in her mouth. She stepped from behind the tree, back in her human form, and made her way over to this packs farmland. She didn’t like stealing from other packs but since she had nothing to her name and no place to call home this is what she had to do to survive. She had been captured a few times before when she was younger and the few people who caught her tried to take her in but she would always run. She never felt safe probably because her mothers last words to her were “Run… and never stop running.”
That’s exactly what she had been doing for the past seven years, nothing but running. Although she hated to admit it she was tired, all the way down to her core, and she wished that there was a way for her to stop running. She couldn’t though. She had been warned since she was young, when her parents packed their bags and snuck away from their own pack in the middle of the night, that something was after her and she couldn’t stay in one place for too long or she would be found. She had no clue exactly what evil force was after her but she could sense the darkness that followed her. Her parents warned her that the shadow that followed her would only bring her pain and suffering and just that vague threat left her frightened and kept her running all these years.
After stuffing some carrots and tomatoes into her bag and glancing around to make sure no one saw her she noticed a large peach tree nearby. It was dangerously close to the pack house but it had been so long since she had tasted a peach. Her mother made the best peach cobbler and all she could think about was how great it would be to have that flavor invade her senses. When she was little she could barely wait for it too cool before trying to scarf a piece down. There were so many times she burnt her poor tongue because she was too impatient to wait. She ached for anything to remember her mother.
Trinity sneakily made her way over to the tree and pulled a peach down immediately putting it up to her nose. She closed her eyes and imagined herself back in their kitchen watching her mother pull a cobbler out of the oven. As she was about to take a bite a loud howl caught her attention bringing her eyes a few floors up the pack house in front of her. The painful howl sent a shiver down her spine and she was left with a dull ache in her heart. Someone was hurting and her wolf was pushing her to go to the person and offer them comfort. She shook the odd feeling, pushed her wolf's pleas to the back of her mind, and took a bite out of the pear. One word -Amazing.
She realized she had stayed to long then just as she was going to turn and leave a scent caught her attention. It was coming from the same direction as the howl from a few moments ago. She noticed a gorgeous god like man emerge from the balcony doors. Every muscle on his torso glistened with sweat. Her wolf was trying to push her forward to run towards the stranger. She just stood there admiring his sexy body which distracted her from the three guards now surrounding her. She let out a low growl, dropping the pear to the ground, and preparing to fight her way out of there. She held her own until one of then snuck up behind her slamming a needle into her arm debilitating her in seconds.
She woke up pinned to a chair with a silver collar around her neck keeping it against the chair and hands bound by silver cuffs to the its arms. It seems they had re-purposed a electrocution chair for their little torture chamber, it was large and sturdy. They were in a small room and from the smell of mildew she gathered it was probably in a basement. She Noticed the needle sticking out of her left arm and followed the line to the wall on her left where she saw an IV bag. Considering her weakened state and the fact that she couldn’t communicate with her wolf she assumed they had added wolfsbane to it.
Warning: Torture Scene- Possibly Triggering
A man appeared shortly after she regained consciousness. He walked through the door and remained silent. He was looking her up and down with a hint of desire in his eyes. She did not like that one bit. She knew what he was thinking and she started struggling against her restraints. He kept his eyes directly on her as he walked over to a small table near her and picked up a silver dagger. He sliced her right arm from elbow to wrist and stood there watching for a reaction. She didn’t show any weakness or sign that it hurt. She had been down this road before she wouldn’t give this sadistic bastard the satisfaction.
He watched as it stopped bleeding knowing that although the healing had begun because of the wolfsbane running through her veins it would take extra time to fully close. She could see he was enjoying this way more than a normal wolf would. Whoever his Alpha was surely knew this and that why he picked him for this role in the pack. She regretted coming into this territory. She should have just kept moving but her stomach wouldn't allow her. She needed food and the energy it provided so that she could shift and continue running. The man moved on by placing the knife tip first into her thigh pressing down slightly.
“How many of you are there,” he questioned.
“Its just me,” she replied.
“Liar,” he said pushing the tip of the blade deeper into her thigh almost hitting bone. “We know there’s a pack of you roaming the outskirts of our territory.”
“I’m not with them,” she said through gritted teeth trying to mask the pain as he twisted the knife inside her thigh, the blood was now freely flowing from the wound, and the glint of joy her pain brought him was sickening.
He pulled the knife out, threw it on the table, and backhanded her right cheek. He positioned himself in front her, leaning down he sniffed right behind her ear, and let out a low growl. He then stood back up and slapped her yet again with all his might across her right cheek. Grabbing a small syringe from the table he injected a small amount of wolfsbane directly into her carotid artery. Her heart rate immediately slowed down and her head became hazy.
“How many of you are there and do you plan to attack us or just move on into the next territory?”
“I already told you I’m alone,” she replied earning her another hard slap across the other side of her face. “I can’t give you information I don’t have.”
He raised his hand to slap her yet again, she closed her eyes, and braced herself but was surprised when it never came. Opening her eyes and looking up she noticed a tall figure standing in front of her holding the mans wrist mid air. It was the god like creature from the window. She tried to focus on his face. She was so busy staring at his body earlier she never even made it up to his face before the three omegas attacked her. She desperately wanted to see the man's face but the wolfsbane was making her vision blurry.
