Reed’s pov (22 years back) “No, you cheated.” I giggled as Jean surpassed me at the last moment in the run and reached the lake before me. I put my hands on my knees trying to even my laboured breaths. She ran fast. Faster than me, no matter how much I tried to run faster than her, she always wins. “I didn’t cheat you did. You take on the lead before we even started.” She said and sit beside the lake. The wind was kissing her face, her hairs were dancing in the air. her white skin was flawlessly taking in the light. She was beautiful but not more than my mama. I sit beside her. “Jean, one day I will defeat you in every game you taught me.” I said full of myself. Something flickers through her eyes, the same expression I saw every time in my mama’s eyes when I told her I am not a child
