When I exited the closet, Mara was still packing up her books. "You know, that's a lot of books, gattina (kitten)?", I observed. She looked up at me only to gasp and freeze in her tracks. I smirked proudly, knowing the effect I had on her. "What's the matter, bambina (baby girl)?", I teased. She shook her head and swallowed hard. "Nothing", she squeaked.
