Chapter 7

-Amy POV- I am still a bit over the moon from spending time with Connor alone though I am not going to show it. After he played his guitar, I was so happy to see that side of him. But then when he was being nice and asking to help me, I panicked because I felt like I was about to lose myself. I almost kissed him. That would have been embarrassing. I'm sure if I did that, he would stop talking to me or being nice. I would have ruined our friendship. He is really nice. Not many people are as nice to me as he is which does confuse me a bit. I mean he doesn't have to be, yet he still is. And that is why I don't want to make a mistake and ruin our friendship. He’s such a great guy. I wish he liked girls like me. I really, really wish he liked me like that but that is just wishful thinking. “You seem to be somewhere else.” Connor says and I am instantly taken from my thoughts. He starts laughing. “Is your mind chilling in Chillandia?” I laugh. “If all fairies are like Garnet, then that would be a type of hell so chilling would not be the right word.” He laughs. “I agree with you on that. Garnet can be exhausting.” He says and then takes a deep breath before we knock on his sister's door. “Now this is a different type of hell.” He mumbles. I inwardly laugh. His sister does tease him a lot but I think it's just the way she shows her love for him. Before he can knock, the door opens. “I heard that.” Abigail says. Connor rolls his eyes and pushes past her. “Rude. What do you think you’re doing?” She asks. “We need to discuss something.” He says. “Discuss what?” Walking in like this was a bad idea because that’s when we see Wolf—Abigail’s mate— tied up to the bed. Messy hair with his pants undone at the crotch area and he has hickeys and bite marks all over him. I freeze and so does Connor. “I was in the middle of something.” Abigail says. Wolf actually looks unfazed by us. He just heaves, lying on the bed. Connor groans and walks back out, mumbling. “Damn it.” I follow because staying here is not an option. “Just hear what Amy has to say. It’ll be quick.” He says. “Uh! Fine.” She closes the door behind her and joins us in the hall. I explain everything as fast as I can and then wait for her response which doesn’t take long. “I like it! Okay, I already have the perfect plan.” She says. “You do? And you don’t mind that we are going behind Aurora’s back like this?” I ask. “Well, you’re not stealing the book, right?” “No, I just want to have a look.” I say. “Then okay. This will be called Mission impossible!” “That's a movie.” Connor says. “Mission impossible two!” She says, trying to switch the name. “Still a movie.” Connor says again. “Mission impossible shut the f**k up, Connor!” She says next. Connor groans and Abigail crosses her arms with a mocking expression. “How bout that name eh? Smart ass.” She mumbles. Connor turns to me, looking annoyed. “Do we really need her help!?” I giggle. “Yes. She even says she already has a plan.” “Yep. Alright, so here is the mission. Wolf and I are actually going to Ezekiel’s and Aurora’s place in the city to pick them up. We are all having dinner out with Marco and Charlotte too. When we go to their place, they usually let us in while they finish getting ready so at that time, Wolf and I will let you two in. You guys hide and when we leave, you look for the book.” “So, your plan is breaking and entering?” Connor asks. “No, you are not breaking in. I am letting you in.” “So, you get to dine and have fun while we do the hard work?” He asks. “We all have our roles and you are the lackey.” She says. Connor takes a deep breath but doesn’t say anything else. “Meet us here at seven tonight. Got it?” I nod. “Yes.” “Good. Now I have to get back to my naughty wolf who needs a spanking.” She says and quickly goes back into her room. Connor turns on his heels with a loud groan and I silently giggle. "So, should we head to Tinsley's now?" "Oh, yeah. I almost forgot about that." He says. We head to Leon and Tinsley's room where they quickly open the door for us when we arrive. "Okay, I put some pillows on the floor so some can sit there cause we don't all fit on the bed." Tinsley says. "We also have popcorn!" I sit on the floor in between the pillows and Connor sits right next to me. It's only the four of us at the moment. Tinsley hands Connor a bowl of popcorn. "Here, you wanna share?" He asks me. I nod. "Yeah." He puts the bowl on my lap and we start eating. Soon Garnet arrives and a few minutes later, Cole. The room is cramped with all of us in it but only Connor and I sit on the floor while all the others sit on the bed. "What movie is it?" Cole asks. "The Notebook." She says and suddenly there is a chorus of annoyed grunts coming from the guys. "If I would have known it was going to be a chick movie-" Cole complains but Garnet doesn't let him finish. "Shut up! This is a good movie." He says. "I know I'm going to get sleepy, so..." Conor says and then he suddenly moves the bowl of popcorn from me, puts it on the floor, and then lies his head on my lap. I almost forget to breathe. I don't even know what to do with my hands. I put them on my side like a robot. God, I hope I don't have something up my nose. Quietly, we all watch the movie. Cole falls asleep and so does Connor. Leon follows. When the movie is over, we all look at the guys. Tinsley shakes her head and mumbles. "Boys" We wake them up. Connor stretches his arms while he still lies on my thighs. He then looks at me and smiles. "You are comfortable." He gets up and I quickly look away, hiding my reddened face. "What the f**k?" Leon says looking at Cole. I immediately hold my laugh when I see a d**k drawing on Cole's forehead with a marker and I know it was Garnet cause I saw her doing something but since I was down here, I couldn't really see what. "What?" Cole asks, confused. "... nothing. You just have one of those ugly faces." Leon says. "You know, like a dick." "Yea? So do you, d**k head." Cole says. Leon chuckles. "I'm not the d**k head." Cole narrows his eyes and gets up. He starts walking out but he sees himself in the mirror on the dresser. "Aww! Son of a b***h!" He shouts. "It better not be permanent ink, Garnet!" He rubs his face and it smudges. "How do you know it was me? I mean why do you think it was me." Garnet asks. "It was you, you asshole! I know it was." Garnet starts laughing. "Hahaha! You deserve it!" "Why?!" He asks. "Just because." He says and then sticks his tongue out at Cole. She leaves and then so does Cole but he curses Garnet under his breath the whole time. Despite my protests, Connor walks me back to my room. We still have three hours to go till we have to meet Abigail. I open my door but turn to Connor before I go in. “Thank you, Connor. For today.” I say. He smiles. “It’s no problem. I’ll see you tonight.” “Hey, wait.” I stop him and he turns to me. “If you don’t want to do this, you don’t have to. I can do it myself.” “What are you talking about girl? We are in this together now.” He says. I smile and nod. “Okay.” He waves and walks away. I close my door and now all I can do is think about him. He’s such a nice guy. Before Tinsley came to this school, I remember seeing him around with Leon. But just like everyone else, he was also afraid of me. Never once spoke to me but I could see him watching me whenever I was near. However, this is something everyone tends to do since they want to ensure I am not losing control. I never knew he could be this nice. Going out of his way to help someone he doesn’t know that well. As I wait for tonight, I clean my room a bit, then take a shower and lie on my bed ready for a nap. I also now realize that Connor and I ditched our classes today. Our first day of school and we already started like this. “This semester does not seem like it’s going to go well.” I mumble as I drift to sleep. I wake up startled by a knocking on my door. I run out of my bed and open it. Connor looks at me. “You’re not ready, are you?” “Ready?... ready! I slept through my alarm!” I panic but he laughs. “It’s okay, we still have time.” “Yeah...” I am frazzled. “Come in. Give me a few minutes.” I say leaving the door open for him to walk in while I run around the room looking for something to wear for a heist. I hear him walk in and close the door behind him but then there’s silence. I look back and see him looking around my room. “Is it... weird?” I ask him. “No. It’s different but it’s not weird. I like it.” He says and sits on my bed. I can’t deny the joy that my heart feels at those words but then I panic a little when I realize that he is in my room. Other than Marco, no other guy has been in here. Tinsley and Charlotte have and Garnet rammed her way in once but that’s it. To me, it’s such an intimate thing. This is my life after all. I feel like a room reflects a person and their life. Like for example, Connor. I immediately picked up that he has had a loving and great childhood. His room is bright and filled with things he loves and pictures of the people he loves. He is such a bright person. I am the opposite. I’ve had a less than ideal upbringing and I have darkness inside of me. As I kneel down, looking through my drawers for my clothes, I look at him feeling afraid of what he might be thinking of me but he seems... content. He looks around at everything as if he is admiring it, taking it all in. His eyes land on me and he smiles. “My heart!” I scream in my head and I would hold my chest if it didn’t make me look stupid in front of him. When he smiled at me, it felt like my heart almost leaped out of my chest. I get up with clothes in my hand and sprint to my bathroom. I quickly dress as I control my feelings and once I am done, I head back out. “Reay?” He asks with a smile. I nod and then we both walk to Abigail's room where we meet her and Wolf and then we all head out. When we get there, we go into a very nice tall building that has a vintage twenties regal look but is modernized. I really like it. We take the elevator to the top floor and then Connor and I wait in a corner where Abigail tells us to wait. But before she leaves, she turns around and gives an air fist pump. “Alright! Mission impossible shut the f**k up Connor is in session. Let's do this.” Abigail says. “You’re stupid.” Conor whispers to her, irritated. I hold my mouth, trying not to laugh. Abigail and Wolf get to one of the many doors in the hall and knock. The door opens. “Come on in, come on in.” We hear Aurora say and, in the distance, we can hear Ezekiel. “It’s about to burn!” We then hear Aurora running back in. Abigail waves at us to run to her before she closes the door. We rush in and she quickly pushes us back through another door. “Wait here.” She says. I look at Connor and he looks at me. I am now, stuck in a tiny closet with a super handsome werewolf but at least it’s only for a few minutes. “You guys are not ready yet?” Wolf asks Aurora and Ezekiel. “Yeah, we decided to make dinner for all of us here.” Aurora says. My eyes widen as I look at a very, very close and handsome Connor. What have we done!!
