“You're in a relationship with her?” Jerry slammed against the brakes suddenly, making the force of the car pull forward.
“Stop acting like it's unexpected,” I replied calmly, staring out the window. It was going to be news to him and mother but I don't have to tell mother that it is a contract relationship. “She proposed the contract, so I had to agree. It's a chance to bring her back.”
