Chapter Eleven: Maa loved the morning. The coolness of the night lingered, and it gave the gardens a special peace. The birds’ songs welcomed in the new day. If Maa didn’t know better, she would have guessed this garden was in the middle of the mountains far from any city. The morning fog hovered over the water, drifting into the woods surrounding the garden lake. In her dreams, pixies danced under the fog just out of sight, waiting to cast their magic on unsuspecting lovers. Always ready to pull a prank on the unwilling. The thoughts of magical creatures made her heart race. They held so many possibilities for the future. This morning was different.
