Nah, it’s better if I just let him figure it out. I kept my focus on Xavier, who was already staring at me.
“You were saying something?” I asked him and he leaned closer.
“I was saying. . . if you want to pair up with me for this project, then I’m available,” he said, and for some freaking reason, my heart bloomed.
This! This is what I’m scared of. He does the bare minimum and my heart blooms. Suddenly there were butterflies in my stomach.
