Landon passed me a flashy smile when he saw me coming towards him. Xavier was still sitting in the class, rooted to his seat. I got his piercing gaze on me as I approached Landon.
“Hi, Landon.”
“Scarlet, what’s up?”
“Well, I was thinking about whether you want to pair up with me for the psychology class project,” I told him. My senses alerted me of Xavier’s deadly sharp gaze on me, but I don’t give a damn anymore.

“Are you certain that you want to pair up with me?” He asked and looked behind me once again.
