7. Other half

I don't know how long we stood there just looking at each other. I felt as everything and everyone around us had disappeared and there were just us two in the world. Suddenly my father's voice put me out of my trance.

"Alpha Thorn, glad you could make it. I see you've met my daughter Cecilia"

"Cecilia, what a beautiful name, appropriate for such a beautiful woman" - spoke my mate - "Let me return the favour and introduce myself. I am Keith Thorn, Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack. It's a pleasure to meet you Cecilia."

Oh. My. God. My name on his lips sounded like the sweetest melody sending shivers down my spine. Suddenly I was speechless like never in my life, I could only look at him.

"I see you don't need my company so I'll leave you two for now" - said my father with knowing smirk and turned on his heel and left us alone.

"Cecilia, would you like to walk with me?"

"Yes" - was all I could mutter

We walked for a while in complete silence. I led him to our garden gazebo so we could sit. As we sat there he took my hand in both his and asked:

"Cecilia, would you like to tell me something about yourself?"

"Well, you already know I turned 18 today and am a daughter of an Alpha, besides that there isn't much to say."

"Well tell me everything and anything. What do you like, what you don't." - he looked genuinely interested.

"Hmm, I like shopping and meeting my friends just as any girl. There really isn't much to say."

"Ok, don't be shy My Dear, we are Mates you are supposed to feel comfortable around me." - he said with a warm smile - "I saw your beautiful wolf, I bet you'll be a great fighter."

"Actually Dad never wanted me to train as he said it was too dangerous" - I admitted quietly.

"Oh, I see so you must have spent a lot of time with your mother the Luna. Such a background is priceless in your new position."

"No, not so much"

He frowned and I started to feel uneasy. He looked to be deep in his thoughts, but after a while of uncomfortable silence he spoke again more to himself than to me.

"It doesn't matter you were born to this you will learn everything in no time. Ok then, we should get back to the party after all you're a girl of the hour."

I nodded and took his hand which was already waiting for me. Sparks were all I could think about while he led me back to the pack house ballroom. Some of our guests had returned to their homes or guest rooms prepared for today's event, there was barely anyone left at the dancefloor. However I spotted my friend by one of the tables. Among them stood Aaron with Natalie beside him. It was a perfect opportunity to show them how generous Moon Goddess was to me.

"Would you like to meet my friends?" - I asked Keith

"Of course! Lead the way." - He answered with the biggest and most mesmerizing grin I've ever seen.

"Hey you Guys, I'd like you to meet my Mate, Alpha Thorn" - I said proudly when we reach the table.

"Please call me Keith. No such formalities are needed for my Mate's friends."

"Wow Cece, I'm so happy for you. You two look great together." - and of course the one person that should stay quiet spoke… Natalie.

"Thanks, I told you my mate would be an Alpha" - I said with a vicious smirk.

Keith looked at me with a surprised expression. He was probably wondering why am I being rude to a friend, well Natalie isn't one. Finally my brother broke the silence.

"So welcome to the family Keith, I'm Chris this one's older brother. I'm very happy for both of you, and may I add you will have your hands full with her."

"Great, I don't like it boring" - came Keith's reply - "Cecilia, you must be very tired after today's events. Would you like me to escort you to your room?"

"Yes, thank you! Bye, you Guys!" - I said gaining new shade of red on my face.

We made our way to the top floor, I was a bit nervous as I kept thinking about what we will do now? Will he stay over, will he mark me, will we mate? My thoughts were disturbed as we reached my room. We stood there for a while, after which Keith took my hand and kissed my hand.

"Goodnight Cecilia."

And He left me dumbstruck.

Keith P. O. V.

"So we finally have our Luna?" - I heard my Beta as soona I entered the guest room assigned to me.

"Yeah, I suppose we do. And do you know you have you own room?"

"Troubles in paradise, already? You should be all rainbow and sunshine, yet you look concerned. So tell me what's up?" - John asked. He always was like that. Sometimes I suspected that he knew me better than I did myself. With a heavy sigh I answered him.

" I don't know Man, something is off with her. Yes, she is the most beautiful woman I've ever seen, yes sparks are there, and her smell of lilies is amazing. But her behaviour… I don't know, something is not right. She hasn't asked me anything, like she doesn't care. All she needed to know was that I'm an Alpha. And there was that vicious comment to one of her friends, which makes me wonder… Ahh, i don't know!"

" Ok breath Man! You're overthinking this. Look she's still very young, barely even 18. Give her time, bond will do its trick. Besides she's our destined Luna she'll come around."

" Yeah, you're probably right."

John went out, probably to hunt for some willing she-wolf to spend tonight with. I on the other hand lied down on my bed and couldn't shake the bad feelings deep inside.
