Chapter 27:
Awareness crept upon me. I heard machines whirling, clicking, chugging, and beeping. My body felt weak and tense. What happened? Where am I? Who am I? I tried to rack my mind for an answer to those questions but kept drawing a blank. I slowly blinked open my eyes and was blinded by the bright light above me making me close my eyes again tightly.
I heard a door open and soft footsteps walk towards me. “Good morning Mrs. Emerald. Time to check your vital signs again. We are hoping you will awaken for your coma soon. You have many loved ones awaiting you.” A soft cold hand touched my arm making me jump and my eyes snap open once again. “Well hello there.
