Chapter 2:

Chapter Two:

“Let's go for a run.” Jared’s voice was in my head.

Hesitantly I stood up on all four legs and once again howled which he followed suit along with several hundred others and Jared took off into the forest and I followed, the voice in my head talking to me.

“Emerald I am Jade your wolf.”

“Why have I never heard you before?” I asked back.

“Because I was dormant until you shifted.” She explained.

“What did you mean when you screamed about Jared being our mate?” I asked curiously as I followed him running through the forest.

“He is our mate, the one the moon goddess made just special for us.” She explained. “Can’t you smell him?” She asks.

I sniffed and the sudden smell of fresh cut grass and new paper filled my nose, making me groan in surprise. “That's him?” I asked, shocked.

“Oh yes!” Jade says in a lusty voice.

Suddenly Jared turned and attacked several deer nearby and after they were dead came over to me dragging them and dropping them at my feet.

“Let your wolf eat.” His voice said in my head.

Suddenly Jade took control and I was pushed back to the back of my mind I could still see but couldn’t control anything. She rushed forward and immediately started eating the deer in front of us. I watched in shock as she devoured one of the deer's and Jared ate the other one. After the deer was gone Jade walked forward purring and started rubbing her head against Jared's.

He purred as well and rubbed his face against ours.

Suddenly I gained control again pushing Jade back as she sighed contently.

“Let's go back to the pack house.” Jared's voice said in my head. He turned and we walked back towards the pack house. It was silent between us for a while until Jared asked. “How are you feeling Emerald?”

I focused on him and the link connecting our minds and said softly. “I am really confused and I don’t understand what’s happening to me.”

“Don’t worry it will get easier. Now that your wolf has been released everything will become clearer and you will understand everything when you're meant to.”

“What does it mean for you to be my mate?” I asked softly scared of his answer but I really wanted to know.

“It means we will be together for all of eternity. The Moon Goddess made you just special for me.” He sighed softly and rubbed his head against mine and the contact made my skin zap with the sparks I felt from the contact with him.

As we made it to the edge of the forest Jared turned to me. “Shift back here.” He says and suddenly shifts back to his human form and grabs a pair of basketball shorts that were nearby and slipped them on then I noticed he held a dress for me as well.

“Jade, how do I shift back?” I asked a little panic stricken.

“It’s okay Emerald you have to calm down and focus on your human form and bring the will to change back from your mind to your body and you will shift.” She says calmly trying to coax me through this.

I do as she said, clearing my mind and focusing on my human form and suddenly I feel my body realigning and I gasp as I crumpled to the ground naked and shivering.

Jared walked over to me and handed me the dress with a small smile, his eyes raking my body.

I flushed bright red and took the dress from him trying to hide my body with my other hand. I quickly slipped on the dress and stood up. I looked up at Jared and flushed more. His sculpted chest was glistening in the dark. His hard muscles rippling through his bare arms and chest. My mouth started to water but that made no sense. I didn’t realize how long I had been staring until Jared chuckled.

“You like what you see Little one?” He asks, smirking at me.

I flushed a dark red and my eyes snapped to his face.

“You can feel the mate bond now.” He says softly. “It’s going to take some getting used to, for the both of us.”

“Where is Sapphire?” I asked looking around us but we were alone just on the edge of the forest.

“She is with Leo. They will join us shortly, don't look so worried Little one. She's in good hands.”

“What do we do now? I mean where do we go from here? What am I supposed to do? What is expected of me? What does all of this mean? What is going to happen to me?” I realized I was rushing out my words; they were all blurring together with my confusion and worry.

“Hush little one all will be understood in due time. For now let's walk back to the pack house. I have had Timothy put your bags in our room and I am sure you want a shower.” He says softly, holding his hand out to me his eyes dark with lust.

I flushed but placed my hand in his the sparks that were always present when he touched me traveled up my arm from the contact. “Can't we wait for Sapphire?” I ask softly as he starts pulling me leading me out of the trees and towards the house.

 “They will meet us at the door.” He says and gives me a wolfish grin.

I flushed and followed him through the backyard and up to the huge mansion. As we neared the doors I saw Sapphire approaching from the other end of the yard. I dropped Jareds hand and ran over to her. When she saw me she also ran to me and wrapped her arms around me tightly. I sighed softly holding her close. 

“Em were freaking wolves!” She whispered sounding shocked and awed all in one.

“I know Saph I am shocked just like you.” I whispered fiercely holding her tight.

“Are you going to spend the night with your mate?” She asked softly and I pulled back slightly to look at her.

“Why?” I asked hesitantly. I knew she was asking if I was going to give Jared my virginity and I did not plan on it.

“Because Em I’m going to spend all night with mine! He is simply perfect! I already love him so much! I can’t wait to spend forever with him!” She sighed looking like a love sick puppy.

“Saph we shouldn’t you know we are supposed to save ourselves for our husbands and who is to say they won't change their mind?” I asked softly chewing on my lip.

“They won’t Em being Mates is a stronger connection than being married it’s for life can’t you feel that?” She spoke in a shocked tone as if she couldn’t believe what I was saying.

“It doesn’t matter, I am not sleeping with someone I just met.” I said in a snappy tone. “You shouldn’t either.” I said softer as suddenly both Jared and Leonard walked up to us. Leonard held his hand out to me.

“Hello Emerald, Luna, I am Leo, your sister's mate, sorry for not being able to introduce myself earlier.” He says softly looking at Sapphire like she was an earthbound angel.

I just stared at his hand. I couldn’t help but feel anger from what Sapphire had just told me. Soon my manners kicked in and I hesitantly shook his hand. “Nice to meet you Lenoard.” I say emphasising his full name.

He flushed a light pink. 

“She’s sassy but made just for me.” Jared said and suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into his side.

I gasped softly as the contact sent the sparks shooting in every direction from his touch and every single inch of him that touched me hummed and was set on fire.

Sapphire gave me a knowing look and smirked, turning and wrapping her arms around Leonard’s waist resting her head on his chest with a soft sigh.

I sighed deeply. “Saph, Don’t push me!” I snapped at her.

“Come on Em! You know you want to just as bad as I do.” She said, turning to grin at me still clinging to Leonard.

I huffed at her. “In your f*****g dreams b***h!” I snapped pulling away from Jared.

“b***h please I heard your gasp!” She rebuked glaring at me now.

“Just because it shocked me doesn’t mean I wanna do what you're insinuating!” I said unable to hold back the hurt in my voice.

She fully turned to me and wrapped her arms around me and started petting my hair. “I’m sorry Em I am just trying to help you.” She says softly into my hair.

I pull away from her. “Which is exactly what I am trying to do for you but it's as if it's already happened and you have no regrets.”

“Come morning time that’s exactly what I will be feeling with no regrets whatsoever.” She snapped at me.

“Sapphire god damnit!” I snapped. “You can’t just keep your legs closed for one goddamn night? You just f*****g met him!” I threw my hands up in the air. “Is nothing sinking into that abnormally thick skull of yours?”

“Emerald Enough.” Jared snapped in a deep timbre making me whimper and bow my head against my will. “You girls need some time apart. What Sapphire and Leo do are none of your concern. They are mates and if they want to mark and mate one another it is nobody's business to say otherwise. Let it go.” He spoke quickly and then grabbed my hand. “Come with me and leave them alone.” He spoke in his Alpha timbre making me whimper softly. He started pulling me towards the house and against my own will my legs followed him. 

I looked behind us and saw Sapphire bury her face in Leonard’s chest. I felt horrible and my stomach wouldn’t stop flipping in circles. I was too scared to say anything to Jared so I just whimpered softly as he led me through the house up several flights of stairs and through several twists and turns. He opened the door at the end of the hall and ushered me in turning back to shut and lock the door. I looked at him and whimpered softly.

“Sit down on the couch and let's talk.” He says softly motioning over to a sitting area on one side of the room.

I looked around the room and my mouth almost dropped open at the overpowering wealth surrounding me. There was the biggest bed ever standing off to the side; it was the size of two California King beds put together. There were three doors across the room from the bed which I honestly had no idea what was behind them and then there was a sitting area with a couch facing a huge plasma screen tv mounted to the wall. Along with end tables sitting on each side of the bed and a bench at the foot end of the bed.

Hesitantly I walked over to the couch and sat down on the far end crossing my arms across my chest.
