“Thank you, ma'am. I will consult you when we find out who did this,” the detective said. I knew very well that he won’t find anything, but I nodded like a scared innocent girl I always portrayed to be.
“Is there anyone who we can call that will fetch you?”
“My mother,” I said sadly. My eyes were glassy, had to play the part. Who wouldn’t cry when someone tried to kill you? Okay, I wouldn’t, because I’m seeking revenge. Let me rephrase the question, which human wouldn’t cry when someone set a bomb on their car?
None, some of them will be in the hospital, traumatized by now. I gave him Kate’s number with my hands in my pocket holding the g*n. My finger was on the trigger, I was not putting my g*n down. I knew that once someone tries to kill you, they won’t stop until the job is done.
He called her up and I looked around, wondering where my extra security was because I saw none of them in the crowd. He let me go, telling me that Kate was on her way, and I nodded looking for Anthony’s car. He was one of my trusted security guards. The one person I trusted in my team, he was the one who helped at the auction.
But he was nowhere to be found. I checked the whereabouts of the detective before I followed his scent that led me behind the college. I found the car there, with my security unconscious. The smell of the gas was filling the air.
‘Someone planted a sleeping gas in the car’ I thought going back to the front of the school where news people were reporting on their stories, police taking forensic evidence, dramatic school children who wanted to be on TV crying, and giving their statements of what they saw to the news people.
I rolled my eyes at the scene, waiting for Kate to get here and soon enough, I saw one of the cars coming and I rushed there only to be met with Magnar, the man that roamed my nightmares and wet dreams.
I opened the car and got in. It was stupid of Kate to send him when there are police around. This man didn’t even have a driver’s license and I didn’t even know if he was here legally or not.
“Where is Kate?” I said, closing the door.
“At the house” he answered, nonchalantly.
“Why are you here and not her?”
“Because I’m your fiancée and she is not,” he said, driving and not even looking back. This man had a death wish, he was borderline crazy.
“I don’t see a ring on this finger, so stop calling me your fianceé okay?” I glared at him, making him smirk.
“That’s not what you said last night when I was between your thighs” I glared at him, but I still remembered him between my thighs, and I felt my self just getting wet at that thought but I shrugged it off.
“You mean when you forced yourself to be between my thighs? Next time you pull a stunt like that, I am going to kill you”
“I didn’t force you to moan, did I? I didn’t force you to c*m, all that was you,” he said, turning the car in the middle of the road and the window opening automatically. I don’t know when the g*n reached his hand, but I heard shots going to the car behind us.
They also opened fire towards us. I went down on my seat before finally taking my small pistol that only had about five bullets left in them, and using my enhanced sight, I shot the man in the front seat holding an Ak 47.
I shot him right in the middle of his eyes, and I couldn’t help but remember that’s how I threatened to shoot Magnar this morning. He shot the other driver, while I shot the two in the back seat, and the one sitting on the left side of the car. Where the traffic had stopped, he got out of the car and started running.
Magnar opened the door fast, going after him. I wanted to help, but the sirens rang once again and I knew the police who were at the school, where the same ones coming here. I wanted to leave the car there and let Kate deal with them, but I knew if they got hold of Magnar who had no papers, they were going to be another case.
I’m sure I was going to look suspicious, so I did what a teenager like me would have done in this situation. I forced the tears to come out and my hands were in my hair so it looked disheveled, and I was shaking. This was too much work. The officers were there in two minutes and I never got out of the car, still hunched over with my hand on the driver’s seat.
“Ma’am are you okay?” the detective from before asked and I looked at him teary before jumping on his chest and sobbing hard. I didn’t like the scent of his cheap perfume, but what could I do? I stayed there inhaling it.
“It’s okay ma'am, everything is okay now” he kept on saying over and over again, and I smiled to my self because it was working. I lifted my head sniffing and I was sure my eyes were red and swollen.
“They were trying to kill me” I sniffed.
“I’m sorry ma'am, we shouldn’t have let you go alone, that was wrong of us. We will escort you home if you feel safe enough to go there” he was brushing my back and I saw Magnar standing in the side lines with people who were watching the scene, and other’s giving statement. I saw my man also giving statements and I knew it was going to conflict with what other people said, and they won’t suspect me at all, but I didn’t miss the violet eyes glaring at me and I smized( smiling with your eyes) while sniffling.
I was sure Magnar saw as I fell into the detective’s chest sobbing my eyes out. This time the show was for me. I wanted to laugh so much that he was so jealous of the dectetive who was just doing his job. This Magnar guy really had a problem, he barely knew me, but he was already possessive.
‘Interesting’, I thought.
“It’s fine, our mansion is secured, my mother is there and I’m sure they will not try anything there” I said into his chest, and he hummed before pulling me away and taking me to his car. He drove me home with Magnar’s car following behind. He took the ride with the secret security who finally woke up, after the sleeping gas wore off.
I gave him the address to my mansion and I was sure he knew the mansion very well. Who didn’t know my late husband of two minutes before he died. Or seconds, I didn’t know, I just knew he died after he kissed the bride.
