I sat on the floor in the corner of the waiting room with my back to the wall, Ellie in front of me playing with some toys that Hannah and Austin brought with them, this way I can be the first one that sees the doctor coming towards us to give us an update. We were playing with blocks and puzzles, going through the different animals and colors. Her speech was getting so much better and her personality was shining through more and more every day. I’m chalking it up to the fact that she was stressed and confused when she first got here and because of that, she kind of went into her shell until she was comfortable. She was starting to flourish and honestly, it was all thanks to Summer.
Knowing my daughter was comfortable around everyone made everything feel at ease.
