The girls and Ethan walked up the front steps of what looked to be the entrance when the door screeched open. An elderly looking man in a butler’s uniform stood with the door open. He looked to be around seventy, with a white, receding hairline. A large nose with white hairs sticking out of each side, towered over his permanent frown. “Yes,” he deadpanned, “the masters have been expecting you.”
“They knew we were coming?” Max asked.
“The masters know all comings and goings of their property.” He looked down his nose at Max with a snobby curl of his lips, “not that you lot were quiet when you arrived.”
