Cal paced his driveway in the dark waiting for Kai to get ready. She reached out to him letting him know she was up and was going to change. It didn’t normally take her this long to get dressed, so he started toward her house before changing his mind and heading back to his car. He paced back and forth, changing his mind about staying and going. “You know, she would probably wonder if something was wrong if she caught you pacing like that mumbling to yourself.” Cal paused halfway back to his car and saw his father leaning against the front porch. “When did you get here?” Darrin snorted, “it’s my house, son.
