Brandy “Brandy…” “Brandy, sweetheart, open your eyes. Please, open your eyes,” I heard my father's panicked voice pleading as it came and went. I struggled out of the darkness that clung to me like a second skin. I wanted to tell him I was okay, so I wouldn’t anger him again, but my lips wouldn’t form the words. “That’s it, Brandy. Come on. Open your eyes.” I finally pried them apart, only to be bombarded by debilitating pain. It almost felt like someone was shoving a million daggers into my head.
