The rest of the week went by rather quickly. The diaries we were able to pull out and read didn't have a lot of helpful information in regards to our current situation. It was just more of the same stuff we had found previously. More abuse. More women he'd coerced or raped.
Axel was quiet again during the week, however I was getting used to this pattern with him. It aligned with his trying to remain distant while we were in public so as not to draw too much attention to us. As he tried to explain, it would be a lot harder for him to remain impassive and distant if we continued to be so intimate over texts and phone calls during the week. While I missed having the opportunities to get to know him more and to build our relationship, I could understand his point of view.
