Chapter Seven

Rihanna's POV "Why don't you come in?" David's words echoed in my mind, accompanied by a repugnant smirk on his cruel face. What exactly was I supposed to do if I entered? Join the woman pleasuring him and perhaps chew off his d**k? My body throbbed with agony because of him. The twisted game he played with my life left me barely able to move, waves of pain coursing through me. I stood defiantly at the entrance of the room, my eyes locked onto his, seething with anger and the deep-seated hatred I felt. Heaven forbid I step into that room while he was exposed. Who knew what twisted ideas lurked in his mind? If he could hurt me with knives, he was capable of far worse, even rape. "Leave us," He commanded the lady after a moment. In an instant, she hastily departed, passing by me outside the room. He shamelessly rose from the bed, and I averted my gaze from his indecency, hearing a low chuckle escape him. I dared not look up until I was assured he was decent again. "Sign this," he demanded, tossing a stack of papers onto the floor near my feet. "What's in it?" I asked through clenched teeth, slowly bending down to retrieve them. Each movement sent a surge of sharp pain through my body, but I refused to show weakness in front of David. "You can read, can't you?" he snapped with disdain. I glanced at the papers in my hand, trying to make sense of the words that seemed to blur together. My mind raced as I tried to comprehend the gravity of what he was asking me to do. "You're dumber than you look," David sneered, noticing my struggle to understand the document. "That's a life contract. It states that your life solely belongs to me in exchange for the damages you caused me." My heart pounded in my chest as his words sank in. A life contract? I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Is this what he does to everyone who crosses his path? What about that lady who was with him earlier? What had she signed? "What the f**k!" I spat with revulsion. "You expect me to sign this? Give you my life? I'd rather die!" David's cold gaze met mine, and he nodded once, his expression devoid of any empathy. "I didn't expect you to do this easily. Dane!" he called out, his voice low but commanding. I kept a watchful eye on the door, hoping it would stay open. The last thing I wanted was to be trapped in a closed room with both of these vile men. "Yes, boss," Dane responded as he entered the room. David shot him a look before taking an intimidating step closer to me. "Do you even have the slightest idea how much your actions have cost me?" he growled, his voice dripping with anger. But I held my ground, refusing to let him intimidate me. After all, the worst he could do was kill me. "And you got your revenge, didn't you? You f*****g killed my parents!" I screamed, my voice filled with rage. My body trembled with anger as I confronted him. "Don't you think that's more than enough to cover your damn loss, you f*****g retard?" In an instant, his large hand wrapped tightly around my neck, and I was forcefully slammed against the wall. The impact sent a sharp pain through my back as it collided with the unforgiving brick. I winced, feeling the sting of the impact. "Don't you ever dare speak to me that way." He hissed, his voice low and terrifying. His grip on my neck tightened, cutting off my air supply. My face turned red, and my vision started to blur. Just when I thought I couldn't take it anymore, he released his hold on me. I immediately started coughing, gasping for air as I desperately tried to catch my breath. My hand instinctively went up to touch my neck, feeling the tender spot where he had just manhandled me. "And your parents' lives aren't worth a fraction of my loss." He spat, his words filled with contempt. "And you think mine is?" I shot back, my voice filled with defiance. I wasn't someone who backed down easily. "Well, let me break it to you. Even if I had to sell every organ in your body, it still wouldn't be enough to cover what you made me lose. Even if you had to serve me for a century, it wouldn't make a dent in my loss." I could feel the anger boiling inside me, fueling my words. "Then go ahead, just kill me! End this charade and be done with it. I won't sell my soul to the devil just to save my own skin." He let out a deep rumble, a mixture of frustration and amusement. "The devil? Don't you think too highly of me, honey?" "I'm not afraid of you or death itself. Throw knives at me, feed me to your dogs, do whatever psychotic thing your vile mind comes up with, but I won't sign that stupid contract and let you own me like some puppet." A wicked smile played on his lips. "Now where's the fun in that? Your lack of fear is exactly why I can't bring myself to end your life." "Then screw you, because you're left with no other option. I have nothing else to lose. You took away the most important people in my life, and I'll be damned before I give my soul to you." His eyes narrowed, a knowing look on his face that made my stomach churn. "You might be wrong about that, Principessa. I believe you still have something dear to you." Dane walked towards me, holding an iPad in his hand. My heart sank as I watched the video, my eyes widening in shock. I glanced up at David, my expression filled with disbelief, before focusing back on the video playing before me. "Who are you people? What do you want from me?" The voice of my only remaining family member, Ivory, echoed through the screen. She was on her knees, a gun pointed at her head. How did he...how did he find out about her? No one in my life knew of Ivory, not even Diana. Ivory had been living in London, pursuing her dreams as a doctor. She had moved abroad eight years ago after receiving a scholarship to study medicine at Oxford University. After our parents' death, I had to cut off contact with her to protect her from any potential harm or danger. So how...did he manage to find her? "Now, this is exactly how I like seeing you. Weak and submissive." David sneered, taking a threatening step closer to me. "Now, tell me, would you like to witness that gun going off and see just how big her brain is, or would you prefer to take the easy way out and sign the f*****g contract?" He spat, his presence overwhelming and suffocating. As I stared into his vicious green eyes, a sudden flash of recognition flooded my mind. I've seen those eyes before, I've seen them somewhere. Long before I even knew who he truly was. And then it hit me. David Marchetti was the man I had a one-night stand with two years ago.
