Ben's Point of View

I watched as Tess got into the water, and soon I could no longer see her. I watched for her to come to the surface but nothing. As I was about to jump in after her I heard the saddest song ever.

I looked in the direction it was coming from and there in the middle of the lake was Tess singing. I could feel her sadness, and all I wanted to do was jump in and comfort her, but I couldn't.

'You know you can,' my wolf said as I walked away from the water.

'We can't have her. Layla is pregnant with our pup.'

'So.'

'What do you mean?' I couldn't believe my wolf right now.

'Layla won't keep our pup from us. She will understand.'

'What makes you think she will understand?' I shouted. 'We are talking about Layla. Not only is she Tess's sister but her anger alone towards the situation could cause her to keep my pup from me.'

Layla has a temper when she doesn't get her way. I know the moment she finds out about Tess she will lose it. As my wolf decided to speak I ignore him and started to listen to the song Tess was singing. I closed my eyes and laid back in the grass.

I am not sure how long I was laying there but soon my thoughts were interrupted.

'Where is Tess?' I heard my alpha say through the link.

'She is in the water singing,' I said as I sat up and looked towards her. She had hardly moved from the spot she was in and was still singing.

'The lake?'

'Yes.'

'On my way.'

I didn't bother to respond and instead stood up and stretched.

It didn't take Rick long to get here and as he walked up to me he said, "where is she?"

I crossed my arms over my chest and said, "as I said in the lake."

Rick looked at the lake and then back at me. "Where?"

I looked at the lake and she was no longer in the spot she once was. "Not sure. She was singing in the middle of it. She must be swimming."

"You better not have lost her."

"I didn't," I said. I will admit I was a little panicked and my wolf wanted me to go into the water and search for her but I remained in my spot.

I looked back at the lake hoping to see her face and said, "you get everything hashed out?"

"Kinda."

"What do you mean?"

"Dallas agreed to do the DNA test but said if it comes back positive he wants nothing to do with her."

"Harsh."

"Ya."

"If she is his kid then what?"

"Regardless I want her to stay," he said as he looked at the lake.

'I don't like the look he has on his face,' my wolf said with an angry tone.

'What do you mean?'

'She is mine and he wants her,' he yelled causing me to block my wolf but he was fighting against it.

I looked at my best friend and could see the look of lust written on his face and said, " you like her."

"I do."

My wolf growled and I just ignored him. We had Layla and our pup.

"I want her to stay."

"And what if she wants to go?"

I watched as my words played in his head and he shut his eyes. "My wolf has claimed her as my chosen mate. I want her to stay."

I ran my hands through my hair as my wolf was trying to break free and take control. I looked away from my best friend and said, "look there she is."

Tess was swimming in the water and seemed to be having fun.

"She is beautiful, " Rick said.

'She is mine,' my wolf yelled as he broke free of my block. I closed my eyes and focused harder on the block. After several seconds I finally was able to put the block back up and said, "I am going to go."

"Okay," Rick said as he watched my mate play in the water.

My wolf was trying to break free and as I walked away I heard Rick yell, "can I join you?"

I turned around and he was stripping down to his boxers and run for the water.

"It's for the best," I whispered and walked away.

Tess's Point of View

After singing I decided to swim. The fish all around me were following me and I finally felt free. For once I could be who I wanted to be. When I had enough of playing with the fish I decided to swim upon the surface of the water.

As I reached the top of the water I saw Ben and Rick talking and I watched as Ben walked away. I wanted to go after him but I knew he didn't want me.

As I watched him walk away I heard Rick yell and then he began to undress. I have never seen a naked man before and I couldn't look away. Rick smirked as he looked at me and then ran in. I swam towards him and once we reached each other he said, "feeling better?"

"Yes."

Just as he opened his mouth to say something he jumped and said, "what the hell was that."

I started to chuckle and lowered myself below the water. The fish were circling him causing me to smile. "Okay, guys enough. I will return another day but you need to leave the alpha alone."

I could hear the schools of fish protesting but they did move. As I went back up to the surface I said, "they are gone."

"That's good," Rick said as he reach for my hair and pulled it away from my face causing my heart to beat quickly. I looked into Rick's eyes and smiled.

-Thanks so much for reading and being patient with my current schedule. As of next weekend, I should not have to work unless I will be training the new girl. I will know more this week. Hopefully next weekend I can return to my normal schedule. We shall see.
