Lola
I reach over to shut my alarm off and roll back over, laying flat on my back. I look to my side, seeing the bed empty. I let out a small sigh. He must have worked late again, so he just stayed at the office.
Flipping the blanket off me, I get up walking to the bathroom, ignoring the hurt I feel when he doesn't come home at night.
Well, no need to dwell on it. My shift starts at seven, which means I have two hours to get myself ready. Turning the water on in the shower I stripe down and throw my clothes in the basket jumping in I quickly do my business then get out wrapping myself in my robe. I head for my closet grabbing my uniform I stop at my dresser and grab some of my undergarments. I throw everything on going back to the bathroom I brush my wet hair twisting it up into a bun.
I don't bother with makeup. The hospital is too busy of a place to worry about that.
I walk out of our room and go to the kitchen, getting my coffee ready. I grab some fruit for breakfast and a glass of orange juice. I sit at the little table and eat by myself, and I think about him.
Picking up my phone, I sent him a quick text.
(good morning, love missed you last night )
Hitting the send I lay it down putting my bowl and glass in the sink I then pour the coffee into my travel mug shutting the coffee pot off.
I heard my phone chime.
Looking at it, I see he texted back.
(I worked late and stayed at the office. I'll be home tonight)
(Ok, love. See you tonight. Love you)
Grabbing my purse and coffee, I put my phone in my bag and headed to the front door. I grabbed my keys off the little key holder and walked out, locking the door behind me.
Climbing into my car and starting it, I back out of the driveway and begin my thirty-minute drive to the hospital.
Pulling into the parking garage, I grab all my stuff, get out, and make sure to lock my car. I have ten minutes.

Tossing my phone back on the stand and run my fingers through my hair, Rolling to my back, letting my arm cover my eyes,
"Hey, love," I felt her kiss my chest. Picking my arm up just a bit, Chloe's head was on my chest. She was looking up at me.
"Was that her again?"
Dropping my arm again, "Yeah," Was all I said. Choe knows Lola is my wife, even though I've been seeing her for a few years now. She is my assistant. I couldn't help myself; she was gorgeous, intelligent, and completely opposite of my wife,
"Let me guess she misses you?" Sracasum clearly heard in her voice, "Well, Chloe, she is my wife," I felt her move. Picking my head, I watched her get out of bed,
"Where do you think you're going?" Sitting up, leaning back against the headboard,
"Dont worry about it. Shouldn't you be leaving to go back to your wife,"
She spun away from the bed and crossed the room to the bathroom, slamming the door shut,
God, why do all women have to be annoying? She knows the deal. I told her in the beginning I'm not leaving my wife. She was good with it all this time, but here lately, she has been acting differently; I know what she wants, but I'm not giving up, Lola. Yeah, I'm bedding other women, but I'm a man. We have needs, But I need to keep Lola. I may not love her like most do their wives, but I'm not willing to give up what she can give me for anyone. Let me make one happy, and I'll have to attend to the other tonight,
I climb out of bed and turn the handle to the closed door. It wasnt locked, so she was not that mad at me. Pushing it open, I see her through the shower door. Stepping in behind her, I wrap my arms around her waist. She lets out a gasp and spins around,
"What are you doing in here?"
Leaning in, I softly kiss her lips, "Im sorry, babe, she just drives me mad sometimes. I didnt mean to take it out on you,"
"Dean, If you dont love her, why not leave her,"
"Chloe, I've told you before, if you are looking for more than what I'm giving you, then we need to stop this,"
Letting my arms drop from around her waist, I step back; I wait for a second. I know she won't want to stop she already told me she loves me, i didnt say it back cause I dont love her not like that, I love the pleasure she gives me,
"What no! She reaches out grabbing me, "Im sorry, I just see how upset she makes you. I dont like it. I want to make you happy, Dean. That's all," Smiling to myself, I push her against the shower wall.
"Show me how sorry you are,"

Hurrying as fast as I couldn't without breaking into a run, I made my way into the hospital where I work in the emergency department.
"Lola!" someone called my name. Looking over my shoulder, I saw Ava jogging to catch up.
"Morning, Doctor Ava,"
"Lola, please don't call me that till im clocked in," She laughs.
"Sorry, a force of habit. Are you the head doctor today?"
"Yes, please tell me you're just starting."
"Yep, I'm here till seven tonight. How about you?"
"Same, thank God I was hoping I wouldn't be stuck alone with these crazy ass people,"
We both laugh as we walk into the employee room. We head for our little cabinets to store our stuff.
I've been a nurse here for about two years. I got hired straight away after graduating from college.
The hospital isn't a big one. Seeing how this is a small town, I wanted to move away and work at a big city hospital, but my husband didn't want to move. He got a job with the Anderson Firm. He's one of the lead attorneys there and has been there since college. He did his internship there, and they hired him. He is good at what he does, winning all his cases.
But with his success comes sacrifices, and one is he hardly home.
Dean and I have been together since college. We married two months after I graduated. He didn't want to wait and said it looked better if he was a married man for court.
Dean is almost two years older than me. I met him during my first year in college. He was so charming that I fell instantly for him.
Dean is gorgeous. He's tall, with blonde hair, blue eyes, and broad shoulders. He takes good care of his body, going to the gym four to five times a week.
So I was surprised when he showed any interest in me I was a shy nerdy girl who was at college on a scholarship my family didn't have the money to pay for college so I worked my butt off in high school.
Dean, on the other hand, comes from a wealthy family. His father is a lawyer as well. I'm sure that's why the Anderson Firm hired Dean.
I don't have any friends. The only person I am halfway associated with is Ava. She's been working here for about a year now. We don't hang out outside of work, but she is the only one to befriend me here. She is young, maybe 21. She is smart, seeing as she is the youngest doctor I know.
"Come on, Lola, let's get this day rolling,"
I hear her yell from the door.
"Coming,"
I look at my phone, hoping to see a reply, but nothing. Feeling my smile drop, I hate how we go days without actually talking.
I love Dean but this last year since he's climbing the ladder at work we seem to have drifted apart and it hurts I know he wouldn't cheat on me but he has changed a lot.
With that thought, I throw my phone back into my bag and shut the cabinet door. Snapping the lock closed, I pin my badge to my shirt walking over to Ava.
"Hey, you good?" She asked as if she knew my mood changed.
"Yeah, I'm good. I just haven't heard from Dean since yesterday. I guess he has a big case he is working on,"
We walk out, heading to the nurse's station to see today's lineup.
"Lola, I know he's this big-time lawyer now, but seriously, he needs to make time for you,"
Ava always questions Dean and his actions. She doesn't trust him, and believe me, she doesn't hide her dislike for him.
"He's just busy. I understand they demand a lot from him,"
"Lola, a husband should always make time for their wife,"
Before I could say anything, I heard her voice.
"Morning, Dr. Morgan,"
"Morning, Emma," Ava says while giving me an eye roll.
"Oh, Lola, how's your husband,"
"Not that it's any of your business, Emma but Dean is good. Now can I have the lineup, please,"
"You don't have to be so defensive, Lola,"
She tosses the clipboard on the desk grabbing it I look over to see who's in what room and who needs what done.
"Dr. Ava," I hear someone call she walks off.
I hand Emma the board back, and I head down the hall without saying another word.
