CHAPTER 20
Ava looked away from Brandon and eventually squeezed her eyes shut to stop the tears from forming. “Carolina, he said, helped him be who he was.” It sounded deep and Ava didn't know how to feel about it.
How ridiculous that Brandon was telling her that Carolina had pieced him together. In other words, he would not have survived the past years without Carolina? Was that what he wanted to say? Was Carolina that important to him? Ava pondered on.
“Brandon—“ she breathed out and opened her eyes determined to beg off from all the complications. It was perhaps the time to talk about a lot of gray or undefined areas in their relationship. As far as she was concerned, it was getting darker and darker each day and she didn’t know if she could take some more.
“Yes! Avalline.”
