🎀 Chapter one 🎀

"NEW HOME"

Aurora's POV

After the long ride that almost took forever,we finally reach a small town in California,there are small amount of houses in the town which am very grateful for cause am a less social person,I usually get nervous around people.

There are a lot of both fresh and dry trees ,which makes the town look like an abandoned area,more like a forest or jungle.

The ride is awkwardly quite with few cars passing by.

Miranda's old trunk makes some disturbing noise due to pot holes, Richard's annoying snores which am sure even Miranda hates fills in the awkward silence,

"Don't you dare cause any trouble here kid" Miranda spat glaring at me through the front mirror,

I roll my eyes and look away,

As if I ever caused trouble, I'm so used to her hateful glare and hush words that u doesn't even bother me now.

She pull over in a drive way,and i look up to see an old house which looks like it will be crumbled by a loud thunder.

"Get out"she snap at me slapping Richard's arm,

I gently step out and carry my box from the trunk.

"The smallest room is yours"

She shouted as I walk into the old building called 'a house.'

The door cracked as I opened it,the living room is small containing a two old couches,the floor is tiled but with few broken area,

I climbed on the old cracky stairs in search of my room,

there are two rooms and a bathroom next to the smallest room, which I believe is mine, well thank God the bathroom is near my room,I don't have to run through Richard before reaching it,cause that man becomes John Cena and punch anyone, (basically me) when drunk.

I walked into my supposed room

It really is small,the floor is concrete,the paints on the wall are fading,a small metallic bed as old as the centuries and a very pale mattress,and a medium size window,that's all the room contains,I prefer my previous home.

I stood by the window sill,I think my window is at the back yard cause I can only see tress,trees and tress,it's like am starring at a never ending forest.

I stare at the forest for a while before walking to the small old wardrobe,I arrange my clothes which are only eight sets,

Miranda stopped buying anything for me ever since I tuned 14, I take care of myself and my expenses for three years now,so I can't just spend money on clothes.

I get my wallet from my old school bag and count the money I have been saving for a while,I need to get something for lunch and dinner then find a high school,I saw a small shop near by while we were coming,am sure there must be a high school near by.

I count my money,keeping a lot for my school fee aside and shoving the rest in my jean's back pocket.

I stop by the bathroom and wash my face,I stare at my reflection through the mirror,

I have a brunette hair and a weird dark green eyes,my class mates used to bully me because of my eyes colour,shyness and clumsiness,they said my eyes terrified them,my mom once said I have my father's eyes and hair,and she loves me more because of that,and I still wonder why dad decided to leave us,I sigh shaking my head,am only gonna cry if I continue dwelling on my past,and crying is the last thing I Want to do now.

I walk down stairs to see Miranda arranging food on the small table and Richard connecting the TV,the living room looks a little bit nice,guess Miranda dust it up.

"And where are you heading to?"Miranda ask without sparing me a look.

I roll my eyes ignoring her,when does she even starts to care

"Am gonna grab something to eat" I mumbled

"Hope that's the only thing you'll be grabbing" Richard grumble while switching channels,i***t.

I ignore him and walk out knowing I'll only be in trouble if I talk back.

I walk down the empty road silently praying to see the shoe again,and thank God I saw it,

I was welcomed with a bright smile from a lady who is likely to be in her mid Thirty's.

"Hello dear,how may I help you"she said calmly.

"I need to buy some stuffs"I reply

"Okey,please look around "

I walk fully in and bought biscuits and snacks for lunch and dinner,I also bought books and pens too.

"Is there any high school near by?"

I ask paying for my stuffs.

"Oh yeah,just walk straight down this road,you'll see one few steps after a pet shop"

She replied warmly

"Ok thanks,there ain't many people in this town right?"

"Well here...no,but there are a lot of people living deep in the woods,people around here respect there privacy a lot,

They only mingle with us when necessary." she said creepily.

"Uhh, okey" I mumbled

"Be mindful dear,don't attract them if you want to live here peacefully."

She added giving me a weird smile.

What the hell does that mean?

I thought of what the woman said as I walk down the road in search of the school,am starting to freak out,I've passed the pet shop about 20 minutes ago but still didn't see any sign of school,hope she didn't give me a wrong direction,

Just as am about to give up,I saw a school sign board,

Phwww thank God,

I stand before the big black and Golden gate,reading the name of the school boldly written on the huge gates 'Sunshine High'

"Guess this will be my school from tomorrow"I mumble to myself

"Heyy!!"

I almost jump out of my skin as I heard a female voice scream behind me,I quickly turn around to see a young lady my age smiling

"Sorry I scared you"

She said cheerfully

"No..it's fine" I mumbled looking away from her alluring brown eyes

"Am liliy by the way,and I study here.... you?"

She said happily

"Umm..am Aurora, new here ,just checking out my new school"

I said calmly.

"Oh cool,that means am gonna see you tomorrow right?"

"Yeah"I mumble scratching my head not quite comfortable with how she's scanning me.

"Ok,cool...see yah"

She said nicely jogging down the empty street.

I walk back home and silently slide inside my room,relieve that i didn't bump into any of the couples,

I ate my biscuit and lay on my pale bed.

Well the town is not bad after all

Let's see what tomorrow shall bring.
