KAMERON I slammed the door behind me, but it wasn’t enough to relieve the surge of humiliation that went through my whole body. I caught sight of myself in the mirror, my hair disheveled, my eyes red-rimmed, and I wanted to break the mirror. This wasn’t me! I am a man who is always in control of his emotions. My absolute confidence and self-assurance were half of the reason I was as successful as I was in the world of business. My ability to breeze into a boardroom and smile at every shark at the table as though I already owned them made my competitors bow before me like servants. Not only had I lost it back there, but I had also lost it in front of my mother, in front of my business partner, and in front of my nurse. I’d hung on her like a freaking baby.
