Chapter 12
A few minutes later, Derrick lay with his head resting on Seth’s chest, listening to the steady rhythm of Seth’s heartbeat, letting it lull him toward slumber. He absently swirled the man’s chest hairs with a finger. Finally, he’d gotten what he’d wanted, the one thing that threatened to consume his every waking minute. A friend once warned him of such things, how reality often failed to measure up to the wonderfulness of fantasies. Thankfully, at least in this instance, Derrick could say otherwise. Being with Seth was far better than he ever imagined.
Still…
There was a distant rumble of thunder, which wasn’t enough to drown out the question bouncing around in his mind. Derrick chewed the inside of his cheek, wondering if it was worth shattering the moment to give it life. B
