Chapter Six

***Emily's POV*** He looked so peaceful in his sleep. When awake, he looks like a fierce demon: a handsome one at that. So this is all to him: A child when asleep. I obviously felt bad at the night club when he disgracefully insulted me when I apologized for a mistake that was not even my fault. He caused it. If he hadn't been so engulfed in his phone he would have seen me coming. "If you weren't busy checking him out you wouldn't have ran into him." My painfully truthful mind mocked. I quietly got out of bed ready to start my morning routine. The time read 5:00 am so I head out in my jogging wear with Patty, my little bulldog by me. I head down the street on my normal route . I greeted Mr. Matthews, Miss Little and Mr. Ayala as I came by their houses. They were the typical oldies that got my back. For the past five years that I have lived in this apartment, they never ceased to poke into my business. Once Miss Little called me for some 'important discussion' (note the sarcasm) as she termed it. Not knowing she was going to talk about my love life and how she has never seen any guy at my residence before. I really got pissed that day only God knows how I managed not to ruin her face.I surely know she will taunt me when she sees the demon. She sometimes behaves like a saint and the holiest of all holy. She thinks I don't know how she started flirting with Mr. Mathew barely a month after her husband passed on. I won't be surprised if they have something going on between them. But for Christ sake the man is married. Anyway it's their problem. I hate gossip, being one reason I stopped my neighbor Elizabeth from coming close to me. Gosh! That girl is a gossip queen. "Hi Emmy" "Hi Lace" I waved at our local baker. "You seem to be in thought this morning w******p?" "Nothing much, just dreading going back home." Lace lives on the same apartment block as I . We barely spoke for the first three years that I lived here mostly because I preferred being alone and seriously staying far away from men. But this man wouldn't let me be. He seemed like a very good and fun to be with man so I was very excited when I learnt from him that he is gay. With his bakery just a few meters from the apartment I make my way there whenever I felt lonely and needed advice from a big brother. "Trust me Emmy you have got this. You are going to f*****g go to that shitty old town and give them some ass whooping for what they did to you." I laughed at his remark continuing with my walk. ***TIME SKIP*** I stripped off my sweaty clothing before getting under the shower. I decided against taking a long bath since I wanted to prepare breakfast before Mr . Devil wakes up. Getting out of the shower, I realized I have not brought a change of clothes so I quietly sneaked into my closet in nothing but my small towel. I prayed to the Almighty that he is not awake. I walked in to see him still sleeping with the panadol and water I placed by him still there.Thank heavens. I quickly took a neat pant, a denim short and a Tee. I silently made my way back to the washroom with the clothes in hand and hurriedly placed them on. However, when I returned to my bedroom he was gone. He was no longer lying on the couch. Where is he? Why didn't I hear him stepping out?. Maybe he will be in the washroom. I opened the door leading to my toilet but he was not there. The water and Panadol was also gone. I got to the living area but he was gone. Gone without any thank you note, i will be back notice, nothing!  What a jerk. My house and heart oddly felt empty without him.Is this normal, is that the feeling one has for a complete stranger? I shook the thought of him out of my mind yet my heart betrayed me. It refuses to rest. I brought out my mixed fruity cheerios pouring a fair amount into my bowl. I fetched for the pure milk from my fridge and  with a little water and sugar, I set out to have my breakfast. "I'm glad he is gone. Don't have to stress myself to make breakfast. All I need is my Cheerios." I tried convincing myself to at least get rid of this unsettling feeling. I returned to my bedroom to pack a small luggage of my clothes and toiletries. I took a fair pair of shoes and sandals since I don't know how long I will be gone. I plan on coming back as soon as I see my father and I'm assured he is fine. I have already bought my ticket. All I need now is a hotel booking. I don't want to run into Andrea or her husband by staying in the family house. They are the last people I will ever want to see. Okay, hotel Mascot seems like a nice place and it's not far from dad's home. I entered my details, booking a single yet moderate room. Like I said, I don't know how long I will be there so I paid for two weeks advance. I'm sure they will r****d my money if I stay less. I didn't bother writing any letter to Mr. Pitts. He sure knows that I have automatically quit after what happened yesterday. I can't believe he could go this far. Logging off my laptop,I couldn't keep my eyes opened anymore so I allowed myself to drift into dreamland. Dreaming about a certain demon.   ***Shawn's POV*** Damn this lady is so beautiful. When I woke up in an unfamiliar surrounding this morning, I was wondering where I was until everything from last night came crashing in my mind. The thought of her brought a strange feeling and I could feel a wall that I have been holding on to crumbling. And her coming out in that little towel sure didn't help. I know she thought I was asleep but come on I was widely awake. I pretended to be asleep to avoid any conversation with her. I knew I would do something silly and wouldn't be able to stop myself from pinning her to this bed and bang her so hard. In as much as I loved it here. I had to leave without her noticing. How will I ever hide the embarrassment my d**k is causing me if I don't leave?. This friend refuses to lie down. Making it quickly yet quietly outside, I came face to face with a blushing old lady whose face held awe and wonder. What's wrong with her?. Hasn't she seen a human being before? "oh la la la that's one hell of a view young man." I looked at her forgetting I was shirtless with me still holding my shirt. "Well you can have a picture lady only if that old sucker behind you wouldn't beat me up." She turned to look behind her, her blush only increasing. I walked past her calling Malcin to pick me up. Assured that he will be here in thirty minutes, I walked down the street to a bakery whose sign board I saw when I stood at her apartment. I don't even know her name yet I can't forget her. I stared at my phone screen, remembering how I met her. Actually, breaking this phone isn't as painful as not having her. I have been in this position before. Feeling restless to have someone and when I finally have what I want from her, I feel satisfied and want nothing to do with her anymore. I know I will feel restless until I have her but that will be for another day. She doesn't seem like she fears me or throws herself on me like the rest do. but that doesn't make her different from the others. if I want her, I will have her. I walked into the bakery demanding immediate attendant. I hate to wait for long before being served. A blond lady wearing a uniform with L.A.C.E bakery written on it walked to my table with a notepad in hand. "Sir welcome to Lace bake.........." "Cut that crap and get me a cinnamon bun and orange juice." "Okay sir, that wil........... " "I don't care how much that is. Money isn't a problem but you will be in real s**t if I die of hunger"
