I slowly opened my eyes, the unfamiliar room coming into focus. The air was thick with the scent of soothing incense, and my throat felt sore. Confusion washed over me as I realized I was lying in an unfamiliar bed, completely alone.
I sat up, taking in my surroundings. The room was small, with pale walls adorned with intricate tapestries. Soft, dim lighting spilled from a nearby lamp, casting a warm glow across the space. It was a tranquil atmosphere, yet it only added to my growing sense of unease.
