Celine couldn’t sleep that night, thinking that Callahan was just in the next room. She was thinking about it, as she couldn’t forget what he told her pretend parents. One thing about Callahan is that he appears too predictable at times and is easy to read, but there are times that he’s suddenly vague. You cannot tell whether he was serious or if he was just saying things to put up a front. But what she knew, right at that moment, was that he had told her about serious matters. She had butterflies. She felt her stomach churn, and it was now carved deeply in her that no matter how many years might come, she wouldn’t forget about it.
