Cordelia held tight to Logan, because if she didn't, she was sure she would have collapsed to the floor with fright. She was trembling so hard that her teeth were chattering. She was having a hard time breathing, and felt like she was going to be sick to her stomach.
Logan pulled her into his chest and wrapped his arms around her. "Cordie, it's okay. He's not here to hurt you. I promise, you are completely safe," he crooned in her ear in a calm, soothing voice. "I've got you. No one can hurt you. You're safe with me."
Anita stepped up close to Cordelia and Logan. "Cordie, this is Jimmy. YOU are his special project. He was, and is, protecting you."
Cordelia raised her head and met Anita's eyes. "Can you please say that again? I don't think I understand what you're saying."
