“What are you doing here at this hour?” Eli demanded, raising a brow. I gulped, my mind completely blank, with no reasonable answer coming to my mind. Why was he even here? This place was at least ten minutes away from the final perimeter. Why does he need to guard around here?
“Ivy?” Eli repeated. I opened my mouth to respond, but again wasn’t sure what to say. Did he see me get out of the car? That would be the end of me then. His expression was hard to read, so I couldn’t even decipher whether he was suspecting me or just curious.
