Chapter 16: Creating Lubartown

Almost Five Years Later

Things have changed since the Supremes made it known that they were back, they are mated and have kids and Sophie just gave birth to my son a few months back. Rowe is spending time in Elvira on his anniversary while our parents are babysitting his daughters, since Clarke was exiled, I have been keeping tabs on him as he has turned Lubartown into his territory, and a few of his friends and men join him, no hard feelings but I loved Clarke, we just let things get between us and he almost killed me, that was unforgivable. Lark was living it up with some guy she met, I never knew she was Clarke's mate, the shock on my face when I found out, even Polly was flabbergasted. Lark lied to me all those years, I asked her on more than one occasion about finding her mate and she lied to my face, all the pain she put Clarke through and I never put two and two together, even when it was happening to me with Sophie and Spence.

I was babysitting B.J., he was adorable and my parents fought to have him on occasion, my mother sometimes asked about Clarke and I would tell her what I knew. She hated that the rift between us got so big, she was here making my favorite pasta, and a song played on the radio that reminded us of Clarke, I saw her sadness. I told her, "Clarke was banished, it doesn't mean you can not visit him," she hugged me glad that I approved it. I said, "Mom, I don't hate Clarke but you know he tried to kill me," she said, " I know, I don't believe he was in his right mind because he loved you but promise me, when or if you get a chance to fix this rift between you, don't mess it up." I promised her but I highly doubt Clarke wanted to fix anything between us, I saw it in his eyes, he and Zion hated me. I was still pissed at Lark for contributing to Clarke's pain, if I had known, I would never hurt Clarke that way, I was taken out of my thoughts when my wife walked in the room.

She was beautiful and I got up to help her with the bags and put the groceries away, she ran over to B.J. who was asleep in his cot. I had promised her time off and given the news that Rowe would take over once he returned while I spent time with my family, she was happy and kissed me while my mother cleared her throat and we laughed. We ended up having dinner together after Dad joined us, B.J. was in his room now and we talked about many things. Mom looked at my Dad kissed him and said, "I want to visit, Clarke," he tensed up looking at me in fear of what I would do, and said, "Mary not in front of Barron." I smiled and said, "It's fine, Dad, I already told her she could visit him, Clarke is still my brother even if he tried to kill me," I hated thinking about the fear and shock I felt seeing him look at me with so much hate about to give me my final blow. I froze thinking what did I ever do to deserve this from him?

Sophie was my biggest supporter, I never went into full detail about why I banished Clarke and she left it alone until I was ready to talk to her about it. We spoke about Sapphire's birthday coming up and wanted to go big for her sixteenth birthday party, I was proud of all of our kids, I legally adopted her kids with Seth, and she co-parents her son with Spence. One big blended family but we are happy, I still have a few enemies but nothing major, I tried to protect my people the best I know including Clarke despite what happened between us. Polly also co-parents her daughter with Levi since mating Maddox and they have their differences but nothing bad that they can't handle. After a long evening, we headed to bed, we were exhausted, the kids were in bed and I cuddled with my Queen, I didn't know when she drifted off to sleep until I heard her tiny snores.

I smiled because I was happy but my heart still had a void because of my brother, I did miss him, so I eased out of bed running to the lake. I still looked at the spot where he almost took my life and tried to figure out what happened, I had been secretly researching everything, looking into possible witches and what potions or magic could have affected him this way. Leif said, "We may need to face the fact that he was in his right mind and wanted us dead," I could feel Leif's sorrow at his younger brother trying to kill him and I looked at the noon waiting for a sign to help me because I don't think he would do this to me willingly. I rub my scars on my chest feeling the pain of that day, the day my heart broke for my brother because of what he did. I felt Rowe behind me, he said, "I am sorry, Dad, about Uncle Clarke," I tried not to say anything although I was happy and surprised he was back early when I felt Polly wipe my tears. We sat looking at the lake promising to find out what happened to Clarke that day and repair our relationship.

Three Days Later

It's been years since being exiled from Bearmore, Mobly became my Gamma and Kit was my Beta, he was a vampire that was squatting here and they fought for the position. The settlers were the first inhabitants of the town and I showed them the deed for the land and gave them my vision, we became a clan of misfits. There were all types of supernatural here, some of them left the harshness of Rogueland because of Queen Esmerelda's rule. I hated that b***h, Barron should have killed her years ago but I wanted to be a different type of ruler. After my banishment, I started to feel better, I was thinking straight and stopped drinking cold turkey, it was painful but needed to be done, I had messed up in a big way and let down those I loved. I could no longer visit Barbie's grave so I made a memorial in the garden of her favorite flowers.

The Ranch was the first thing we built as a small group starting, I had a place where my friends could stay until we began expanding. First was the town hall after the ranch, and as we started getting more people coming here, houses started popping up and renovations on businesses began. Kit was good with accounting so he started to handle the finances of the town and Mobly managed all buildings and supplies for everyone, Morris who was our security expert, started creating files for everyone in Lubartown. The settlers in the beginning had trades we could use, one was a doctor so we renovated the clinic so he could start to work and we bought medical supplies from Elvira.

I was grateful for Levi who was disappointed in me but never brought up my banishment, we were still friends and he helped us settle and sent Elves to help us build the small town. Levi even invested in the resort for tourists and since we had different species living here, this was a cesspool of diverse cultures that we could sell to our visitors. Kit invested in apartments for low-income earners and his house wasn't far from the ranch. Mobly decides to live in an apartment downtown, along with Morris, while our other warriors stay on my property in private quarters built around the area. As time progressed, we expanded to having a small courthouse with judges and lawyers, a sheriff's station, and a fire station in the same building.

There was a school for the young ones and local bars, shops, markets, a bus station, and a mall still under construction, we still had work to do as the bridge was being repaired that led to Bearmore. There were small cottages leading up to the town center, and you could see repairs and new structures going up. People were making the town come alive as more families moved here to settle away from the big cities. I had an office in the town hall since being sworn in as Mayor and Alpha of the town, I don't use my title, Prince anymore although in reality, I was born a Prince, it's not a title that can be taken away but I go by, Mayor Clarke or Lubbe. I dropped my family name and used Lubbe after Lubertown, I was about to leave the office and pick up my takeout because I hadn't gotten a maid or cook yet because I love my privacy.

I, however, had sent a message to Drea to meet me home, I was thinking about having some sexy time tonight, she had a flower shop I got my late wife flowers from and we hit it off. We hang out, I won't say we dated because it was a private affair, no one knows besides the security on the property along with my Beta and Gamma. We won't label anything right now, have fun, she moved here from Ironside and loves it here. I was eating when the doorbell rang and I walked to the door to let her in, I had already showered and was just in joggers waiting on her, I asked "Did you eat?" She smiled and said, "Yes, thank you," she walked over and kissed me. We wasted no time as she wrapped her legs around me and I headed to the bedroom, I placed her on the bed as we got undressed, and I watched her beautiful body.
