Chapter 7Walking around the wet wasteland in which he’d spent most of his day wasn’t Dennick’s idea of fun, but he stayed outside until the sun was gone and the chill in the air turned the grass brittle beneath his boots. Arie needed time to find the answers that would allay his doubts. Dennick had to give it to him. He hadn’t planned on revealing the invasion arrangements this soon. Arie didn’t trust him yet, and everything could still explode in his face if the wrong people caught onto his deception back home. But Arie’s defense of the LTF had eroded his intentions.
