Chapter One “UGH!” I huffed, tossing the paper across the table. The torn envelope lay at my feet, crumpled and forgotten as I sat in the stiff wooden dining chair. Tears finally reached my eyes as the heart wrenching sob took over my rib and chest, constricting and painful before I collapsed over the table.
