Cosette was saddened at Carl’s uneasiness. She told Yunee, “I will sleep with him for a while.”
She took off her shoes and lay down on the bed with Carl.
Carl’s eyes shone with happiness.
Yunee also felt sorrowful for this poor little boy and gently patted his head.
“You ungrateful brat!” complained Yunee.
Carl looked at Yunee silently with his innocent eyes. He knew Yunee was joking. She was unable to get mad at him. Carl also called Yunee mom because he spent more time with Yunee than his natural mother, Cosette.
However, Cosette always ranked at the top in his heart even though Yunee looked after him every day. Although Yunee was jealous, she could never get angry with Carl, because she cared about Cosette and Carl. She loved them both.
