This scene was an intense one. Cosette had to play Leyla in a scene where the actress Khloe and Eric were taking a hike but came across a group of gangsters who Khloe eventually led to fall off a cliff. In the scene Cosette had to play a part of falling off the cliff, using strings hanging from the ceiling to hold her up.
It was an intense scene for sure, but Cosette played out her part beautifully within just a few shots, much to the surprise to many of the surrounding cast. Once it got to her scene the cast became incredibly quiet as they watched her act out the fall. Elliot even forgot to call cut until Gordon patted his shoulder to remind him. “Oh, cut! That was beautiful.”
A few of the cast muttered among themselves. They could not help but notice Cosette’s ability to portray her character and the intensity of the moment did seem stronger than when Leyla portrayed it.
“Okay let’s bring her down!” Gordon directed toward the cast as Cosette was still a few feet above the floor.
Suddenly, the line jerked out and Cosette fell straight onto the floor. Without thinking, Edward leaped to his feet.
Elliot was the first to react, leaping to his feet as well as yelling at the nearby crew. “What in the world!? Someone see if she is okay!”
The surrounding cast leaped forward over to Cosette’s figure on the floor, attempting to help her up. Edward tried to move forward too, but Leyla held him back. Her eyes looked up into his with confusion and unwillingness.
Ethan Miller was the first member of the cast to help Cosette to her feet, hugging her tightly against his chest. “Are you okay?” He muttered. Cosette was unresponsive.
“Is she doing alright Ethan?” Elliot asked, still watching from his director’s chair.
Ethan turned to glare at Elliot. “What is the meaning of this? Does your crew not know how to manage these tools?”
Elliot sucked his breath in. He did not appreciate being spoken to like that, but he knew Ethan was the one who casted Cosette and without a doubt felt a stronger connection to her so was reasonably upset by the incident endangering her.
Elliot smiled, “We can definitely figure out what happened there. All of my crew is fully trained.”
“Oh really?” Ethan snapped, stepping away from Cosette’s pale figure for a moment. “Then how could this happen?” Without help, Cosette stumbled to the floor once more.
“Oh, for the love of…” Edward ripped his arm away from Leyla and hurried over to pull Cosette up into his arms. Leyla followed frantically.
“I got her!” Ethan turned back in surprise, watching Edward lift Cosette in his arms.
“She needs immediate medical attention.” Edward snapped. “You seem too preoccupied in arguing.”
The crew became even quieter as Edward carried Cosette away from the scene toward the awaiting ambulance a member of cast had already called.
Leyla stood there speechless as Edwards exit, looking around, her expression ugly.
Elliot sighed, putting his hands over his face.
Edward helped lay Cosette down onto the bed. She looked terribly pale and a few streaks of blood were on her forehead. She was slowly losing consciousness.
Back on set Leyla walked off set furious as being humiliated by Edward. Out of ear shot, Leyla’s agent Neveah White rushed over, whispering under his breath. “It is done.”
Leyla turned to him coldly, “Are there any loose ends that could lead it back to us?”
“Only one member knows, and he dares not to betray us.” Neveah shook his head.
Later in the hospital, Cosette woke up, blinking heavily at the bright ceiling above her, trying to place where she was.
“Coco? You are awake! How do you feel?” A familiar tender male voice could be heard.
Cosette looked up with a smile. “Hello, Ethan.”
“Ah, I suppose you have not forgotten me after all!” Ethan smiled softly, flirtingly.
“I could never!” Cosette smiled playfully.
“Guess you are feeling better.” A dry tone from the opposite side of the room made Cosette aware another figure was in the room.
Cosette did not need to fully turn to know who it was. She got chills on the back of her neck. Why was Edward here? Should he not be with Leyla or the crew?
Edward could not help but feel a jerk of jealousy at the expression he had seen on her face when she looked at Ethan versus the confused expression he got. Clearly, she was not thrilled to see him there.
Cosette cleared her face of emotions, concealing them well as always. “Mr. Coton, I am surprised to see you here. I appreciate the gesture, but I do not see the crew or Leyla here?”
“I came with you in the ambulance.” Edward explained. “Beyond that, I am an investor in the film, and you were injured in my fiancé's role. Just wanted to make sure you were alright.”
“I appreciate you bringing me here sir, but at this point I would prefer to just have family or friend visitors.” Cosette said emotionlessly.
Edward gave her a cold look. She just would not stop driving him away. Was it because she simply did not feel comfortable with him there? Or did she want to be alone with Ethan or worry what he was thinking of their relationship?
“Edward, we thank you for your help, but Cosette should rest.” Ethan butt into the conversation.
Edward frowned. “Who are you to speak for her? And why would you stay?”
Ethan laughed, looking back at Cosette. “Ethan is my Boyfriend.” Cosette explained.
Edwards' heart went cold. “Very well.” He turned in left in silence.
After a moment, Edward turned to Cosette, “Coco…”
He was stopped by a doctor entering the room to check up on Cosette.
Soon, Elliot, Gordon, and others arrived at the room.
Elvin rushed in following them rushing over to Ethan. “Is something wrong, Ethan? Why are you in the hospital? Please tell me I did not leave for one day and you went and injured yourself!”
Ethan shrugged him off. “I am fine Elvin! I am only here with Cosette who got injured on set!”
Ethan walked over and pulled the doctor aside. “Is everything alright with Cosette?” He asked.
“Yes, she Is doing well. She has a slight concussion, but it is very timid and with some rest she should be fine.” The doctor assured him. Ethan nodded with relief.
Ethan headed back to Cosette’s bedside as the doctor left.
Once things got quiet again, Elliot stepped forward.
