When I stepped out of my bedroom, I noticed that Mom and Dad’s bedroom was shut. They usually left it open when they were home. I curiously krepted downstairs. There was no one there. I checked the garage. Their car was gone. That was odd. I went back upstairs to get my things. This was going to be a busy day. I wasn’t going to let myself doze off in the car this time. I was going to get this s**t done even if I had to pull my hair out doing so. But as I was nearing my bedroom door, something caught my eye.
