Ch 13

A stroll later, I arrived at my destination. The darkness enveloped every corner and the crumbling noise of leaves underneath my foot echoed in the silence. Trees around me rustled from the lightest wind gust and apart from large moving silhouettes of the tree, nothing could be seen. The crescent moon provided only enough light to cascade a light glow, nothing more. Ever so slowly I took my clothes off, a pair of shorts and a tank top, and hung them on the nearest branch. The cool air brushed my skin and made goosebumps travel across my skin. My n*****s rose from the cool touch of the air and for a moment I was transported back to the moment when they were pressed against Zayden's hard front. The look in his eyes from then was unforgettable. Losing all control and letting my wolf free, I knelt on the ground. The breaking sound of my bones as they reshaped to support my wolf, made me wince lightly. It had been days since I last changed and rarely transitioned into my wolf form now. Refraining from mating had caused my wolf to weaken over the years and it hurt to see myself in this form. My wolf needed its right and Zayden was right - I took that right away from it. A howl made its way out, when I transitioned into a white wolf, weak but strong enough for a run. The thrill of what was to come made the adrenaline pulse through my veins. Seconds later, I was deep into the woods running as fast as possible. My paws hit the ground and the next moment I would be flying through the air until the next moment when they would crash on the dirt again and the cycle continued. By the time I was halfway into the woods, my white furs were covered mostly with dirt. That was what I loved about the forest - its rawness, the earthy scent filling my senses and the dirt on my furs. It had an element that spoke peace and home to me, like a place where I felt like I could stay there forever and never leave. Zayden and I used to race here and the endpoint would be a hut located by a stream that ran through the end of the woods. He would mostly win but sometimes let me win too so that I would not whine about it. I ran and ran until stopping short as another sound reached my ears. It came from not far and my ears perked immediately and I stopped carefully. Who else was here? At this time of the night, it was probably another wolf but who was it? I howled out loud, like a command for whoever it was to come out and show themselves to me. The leaves rustled again but this time it came from somewhere behind me. So there are two of them. One was to my left, the other to my back. - I thought carefully, wondering why were they not showing themselves to me. I was the only white wolf in our pack and this was our pack's territory, meaning everybody here was a member of the Lunar Pack all of whom knew who I was. That left no space for them to disobey and not show themselves to me, then why were they hiding themselves? My wolf vision allowed me to look in the dark but so did theirs and from what I could see, they were completely hidden while I was out in the open. I decided to try one last time and howled once again. A moment later, two wolves appeared from behind the trees exactly one to my left and the other from behind but this time I was facing them, head on. One of them was light brown and had a smaller form while the other one was the right size and had grey furs. Usually upon seeing me, a future Luna, the wolves of my pack are expected to bow their heads in respect but my senses kicked in when they didn't and instead threateningly advanced towards me. Not sure what was happening, I carefully took a step towards them in an attempt to scare them but they didn't stop, let alone run away. Something is wrong here. They are either not my pack members or they are going against the rules. - my thoughts began to run wildly. The next moment, whatever was going through my head left as they both pounced on me. A whimper escaped my clamped throat as one bit down on it lightly to pin me down. Whatever energy I had left in me, I mustered up to jerk the grey wolf off of me and howled at them to hold them down but it didn't make a difference when they pounced again. This time, I was ready to fight and I jumped at the smaller wolf and scratched him roughly. It whimpered, injured and landed on the ground. While I recovered from attacking a wolf, I was caught off guard when I was thrown on the ground and pinned before the grey wolf bit me. Many moments flashed through my head as pain filled my senses. Howls and whimpers mixed with pain came out of me as I struggled to throw my attacker off but my wolf was too weak to fight back now. Zayden flashed through my vision and his breathtaking face resurfaced. My hand was covered by his as he tried to calm my erratic breathing a few days back. The vision was all I could see, the pain subsided slowly. "Glad to know that my touch distracts you." His voice filled my ears until all I knew was him. A sense of comfort and urgency filled me, enveloping me in warmness and I felt something tug inside me until it exploded out of me. The next moment, my eyes opened to find both wolves lying on the ground, unconscious. Blood oozed out of me from where I was bitten. I struggled to get back on my paws, registering what had happened just now. My vision was still weak and my limbs buckled from each move but the only thing I knew was that I needed to get out of here as soon as possible.
