Chapter 9 *Friendship deal*

" Hey there, friend,"
"I have a name you know, dear friend."
I replied, turning to face Brandon, who smiles grimly at me
" Have you seen Allison today,"
he asks, and I frown at him.
"Is that why you are here after 2 days, to ask me of the whereabouts of your lovely best friend ugh,"
I ask, folding my hands.
" what? why are you thinking like that?, off course I'm here for you! I just didn't see her in the pack house and it's the weekend so I thought I would ask you maybe you might have seen her?"
he explains in a rush, giving an apologetic face.
" you are for her then, just leave me I'm fine without you."
I say faking annoyance, walking away from him to picking up the trash from the playground.
" Jar, what are you driving at, I came here for you alright. I'm sorry,"
he replies, and I scoffed, wanting to tease him more.
" I doubt that. You are always bringing up your dear friend every little chance you get. She had you all to herself all week. Why do you have to suffer me with talks about her again,"
I grumbled, pulling my hands away from him
" come on Jared, I'm sorry okay, I did not know that I've been doing that I just thought it would nice if you made friends with her. You know, she makes good company."
he says, trying to patronize me.
" so what do I make, huh? An awful company?, see you're doing it again praising her, you know what I think it's better we stop being friends just go back to your wonder woman,"
I say, stomping my feet aggressively.
" okay, okay, fine, I would stop talking about her. You make the best company jeez why are you acting all jealous suddenly,"
he says running to me as he grabbed the trash can from my hold and starts picking up the trash.
" Me jealous, no way, why should I be,"
I ask, sitting down on one slide in the playground, swinging my leg.
" I don't know, I you tell me."
He says eyeing me and I covered my mouth with my hands to hide my laugh.
" maybe because all you do is talk about her all the time and I'm questioning why we became friends."
I murmured out with a pout, and he sighs, walking up to me.
" I'm sorry okay, I guess I got carried away. I promise it will never happen again your highness, forgive my insolence."
he says standing at attention with a salute and I couldn't help but laugh out loud at his antics to pacify me.
" Okay, I forgive you, anyway I was only teasing you. I have nothing against your best friend for the records."
I say, climbing up the stairs of the slide.
" you meanie!, and it scared me thinking you wanted to break up with me."
he says as I slide down from the slide tunnel.
" Sorry to burst your bubble but ew, I'm already taken you are so not my type, you have no boobs."
I say, sticking out my tongue at him
"Really, you already know about boobs at your age, this is unaccepted,,"
Brandon says, scrunching up his nose.
" What I'll be 13 in a few days I'm not a kid anymore,,"
I say proudly and Brandon stares at me in shock as he walks up to me tentatively and i rose my brow at him skeptically, tilting my head.
" Hold up, you have your shape shifting birthday in a few days and you didn't think you should tell me about it."
Brandon says, almost shouting.
" It's no big deal, it isn't like anyone is excited for it and no one would throw me a party of some sort, so why hype it,"
I reply, shrugging my shoulders.
" What do you mean it's no big deal, you get to shift for the first time and you'll meet your wolf it's the best feeling?"
" yeah if you have someone to go through the shifting phase with you, or probably a family that is expectant to see your wolf, but in my case it's the other way round, so no I see no reason it's a big deal if I have to go through the phase and pain alone thank you,"
i say with a noticeable frown as I jumped off the ledge of the slide, my mood turning sour.
" When is it"
Brandon asks, his voice barely above a whisper, and I stop in my tracks.
" When is what,"
I turn to ask him
" When is your birthday, what day and date I want to know,"
He says,
" why do you want to know,"
I ask back before I could even stop myself.
" I thought we are friends Jared, I should know this thing, so I can be with you when you shape shift, I want to be there with you."
" Because you pity me, thank you, but you don't have to. You aren't obligated to. I'll be fine on my own."
I say, grabbing the trash bin as I try to walk away from him.
" You're doing this again Jared, you're trying to push me away again. I promised you I would stay with you and never leave. I meant staying with you through it all. No matter what it is you're going through i want to be there every way with you. I'm doing this because I want to, to because you deserve more than what I can offer not because of pity never, so please let me be a friend to you, let me be a family and a brother to you Jar, Please,"
He says holding on to my hand and I close my eyes to hold back my tears, why does he always have to say things to make me weak, why am i always unable to fight against him, he has a way with words every damn time that i can't say it to him. Why does he always have to break my resolve all the damn time?
" 26 of this month, my birthday is on the 26th of September," I tell him quietly.
" you don't have to feel you are alone anymore Jar, you have me okay. And trust me, i would do whatever it takes to be with you through it all Together Forever,"
He says, holding out his index finger, and I roll my eyes.
" Come, take it and seal the deal, it's a pact that would hold our friendship ugh what do you say,"
He says, wiggling his index finger.
" TOGETHER FOREVER,"
I respond, locking our index finger together, and he pulls me into a hug.
" okay okay, can you stop being emotional now, I have to head back to the pack house it's almost time to prepare dinner. You will get me in trouble."
I say trying to break off from the Hug.
" I will go with you. I'll help you with whatever."
He says, dragging me towards the pack house.
" That's only going to get me into more trouble with your parents. You know they're would be in the pack house, don't worry, I would be fine. Stop treating me like your baby brother."
I say, breaking away from his hold as I try to shoo him away.
" You are my baby brother if you don't know, I guess I'll just head home then or go for a run, don't forget to do your homework,"
he says before walking off towards the opposition direction and I nod my head, off course I would not forget, definitely don't want to get in trouble with Mrs Anderson, that witch.
I rush back to the pack house, going in through the back door after I had dumped the trash bag where it should be; I was 30 minutes late to start dinner, and I knew damn well that was going to get scolded, but it was for a good reason.
I opened the back door slowly not to make a sound as I entered through closing it behind me. I made my way towards the direction of the kitchen when I felt a hand grab onto my shirt that pulled me back.
" Where do you think you're sneaking to,"
Jason snarls slamming my back against the door and swallowed my groan.
" I have to get back to the kitchen I just went out to dispose the trash bag,"
i reply quietly.
''I told you I hate being lied to? Didn't I?''
he growled, and it took everything in me to repress myself from sighing out loud in frustration
" I'm not lying,"
I mumbled out, biting my lips. Jason growls, slapping my right cheek, and I stumbled backwards from the impact.
" Think about a next time before lying to me, I saw you with that twink that thinks he is better than everyone else, I saw you both on the pups play ground being all lovey dovey, I think that would want to know why you were late for your duties,"
He says, smirking. I have to beg him, even if I didn't want to I had to.it will piss off Alpha if he knew I was slacking behind on my duties.
" Please don't tell him, it's not what you think, please. It won't happen again,"
I plead, bowing my head in submission.
" I'll let it slide for now, just know that I'm watching you, now scram off,"
He snarls, and I didn't wait another second before dashing towards the kitchen. I don't know why he keeps seeking me out, no matter how hard I try to avoid him. If only I had minded my business on that very day and not peek on him bullying that Allison girl, I wouldn't be in all this mess.
"oh Jared, you're here, clean those chickens and boil it, after that make sure you watch all the dishes in the sink and when you are through, the Luna wants to see you."
The head of the omega says and I nod, proceeding to do as told.
