Chapter Sixteen I turned to see Justine standing right behind us. There was a tight smile on her face. “Hi there,” I said. “Are you enjoying the festival?” Justine nodded stiffly. “It’s a beautiful day for it. I remember last year it was stormy, but we lucked out this year. I’m actually on the planning committee.” Of course she was. Justine was nothing if involved in nearly every aspect of the town. It was a wonder that she wasn’t on the library board. I suppose she figured that Cornelius had it covered. Justine turned to Nate. “I was thinking we should head over and get a spot at the main stage before there aren’t places there. You know how popular The Creek is.” “Sure,” said Nate, picking up their bags. “I’ll talk to you later, Ann,” said Justine. It almost sounded like a threat.
