I tap my pencil to my journal, synchronizing it to the pulsing of my head, not knowing what words to put on paper. Lightning streaks across the sky, illuminating the dark room that I’ve claimed for myself. The storm has lessened, but remains continuous as Alina’s hurt still carries on.
